Why are some settlements names in CAPITAL, like ANTWERPEN or BRUGES (which is misspelled in (old-)Flemish by the way: Brugghe), unlike others, like Genoa or Florence for instance?

AFAIK the cities/castle with names in capitols are the ones that can be upgraded to the maximum level (huge city/citadel)
Anyone else?
Also a solving solution for this?
Barendz is correct
Settlements with the name capitalized are capable of being upgraded into highest level (huge city/citadel)
I read it somewhere in the Deus lo Vult 60_handbook_english.pdf
So it is not a problem that should be solved
EDIT: Sorry.. You can read about it in DLV_60_readme_english.txt in DLV_ext folder : metropolis settlements are shown on the map in uppercase format

How can it be solved?
Bowden, you don't solve features, you solve problems.
You need to show us a problem before you can reasonably ask us for a solution.
The previous 2 answers you have received have been correct, so what do you really want?
Also, when you get help you might consider thanking people.

What I really want: Having all settlement names in normal format, being one Upper Case letter with rest lower case. That is what I want.
And then for the record: "Thanks to Barendz and SHaLaSHaSKa".
Satisfied then?![]()
Oh yes
I don't know how to edit the case of settlement names, I imagine Repman will know.
It is kinda important for you to be able to see which settlements can get to huge walls/citadel, it helps you plan the development of your settlements. It also helps to know, when attacking other factions, which city will be most painful for them to lose. It's a really useful feature but if you want to change it that's up to you
If Repman doesn't give you an answer then try the script and text editing forum here: http://www.twcenter.net/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=276
Well my historic knowledge will most probably help me out. "Thanks". Now its waiting for Repman

I'm just gonna go ahead and say you are an ungrateful child.
I know everyone else wants to.

Thorolf was thus armed. Then Thorolf became so furious that he cast his shield on his back, and, grasping his halberd with both hands, bounded forward dealing cut and thrust on either side. Men sprang away from him both ways, but he slew many. Thus he cleared the way forward to earl Hring's standard, and then nothing could stop him. He slew the man who bore the earl's standard, and cut down the standard-pole. After that he lunged with his halberd at the earl's breast, driving it right through mail and body, so that it came out at the shoulders; and he lifted him up on the halberd over his head, and planted the butt-end in the ground. There on the weapon the earl breathed out his life in sight of all, both friends and foes. [...] 53, Egil's Saga- The pranks played on the knight Jean de Joinville, 1249, 7th crusade.I must tell you here of some amusing tricks the Comte d'Eu played on us. I had made a sort of house for myself in which my knights and I used to eat, sitting so as to get the light from the door, which, as it happened, faced the Comte d'Eu's quarters. The count, who was a very ingenious fellow, had rigged up a miniature ballistic machine with which he could throw stones into my tent. He would watch us as we were having our meal, adjust his machine to suit the length of our table, and then let fly at us, breaking our pots and glasses.

It is useful to distinguish the metropolis settlements from the normal ones. If you want to change it change it in historical_campaign_regions_and_settlement_names.txt

There is no such file in data\world\map\campaign\custom\Historical_Campaign.
where should I look for it? Thanks in advance.
It's in "...\DLV_ext\data\text". I used "search"![]()
Got it. Thanks to all.
Blame me for all of this for suggesting the idea of Capitals in CAPITALS in the first place.
