Default Julii (me) vs. Brutii and now Scipii

    Hello guys....

I had big troubles in the middle of the game, in which the scipii became my ally and the Brutii and Rome became my enemys. I kinda sorted it out, capturing Rome and fighting back those Brutii dirtbags.

My problem is..... the army of Brutii, it's seems impossible to conquer another 12 regions for a victory when fighting against them. They have no problem bringing full stacks at no time. The region that makes problems is the far north east. They are always crippling my full stacks which is very annoying, cause the troop movement takes some time. I'm mobilize them from everywhere..... like spain.

The second big problem is Scipii... my ally fool camping in north africa... I observed a full stack army approaching Rome (conquered by ME!) from south italy. They besieged it while the Diplomatic section tells me they are my allies!! They are going nuts!

What the hell is going on? I'm really getting exhausted.... and that's why I need you, fellow romans!

ummm id really just rather give advice rather than dl a save game and test it out because my RTW vanilla doesnt work anymore. what i would do is to get brutii into a chokepoint, blockade their ports with 3 quinqereme fleets and just give rome to scipii. that way you dont have to make them your enemy. before you do this make sure that the scipii are your enemy by going to the diplomacy tab. you dont want an extra enemy when youre already stretched tight

Also make alliances (if not already) with all your enemy's enemies. Give them money, trade rights, map info...anything to help you.

Also I can't remember where I saw this but placing an army landside of a port will restrict trade as well.(?)

The secret is, you may be outnumbered but never be outmanouvered.

    @aznflea

uh, didn't know that a savegame can mess up your installment. I don't remember my version number, except of that: It's installed since 2006 with barbarian invasion and alexander! this ones really old!

its really getting harder all the time.... and diplomacy... well, the most of them deny everything! its like... i have 100 red-colored negative opinions (past relations, very long war, conquered x regions) like its in civilization 4 damn... this is getting serious. I don't have that many turns left to conquer 12 more regions...

I could go for: Germania (neutral) and Britannia (war ^^), but I have to reinforce against Brutii in the far east (in todays Russia) and in Italy against Scipii too.... daaamnn i'm going down guys =S because I need every man... and it even doesn't help they will eat me from all directions except africa (in the moment!!!).

hmmm, i recomend taking italy from the Scipii then concentrating most of your forces on the Brutii. I would say use Your Urban cohorts against the Brutii and your preatorians against the Scipii as these are the weaker enamy. They beseige rome because they are at war with you due to the civil war being activated and this cannot be changed.

if u only need 12 more cities i would say rush germania and britania. barbarians r always easier then fighting romans. just try to hold your frontiers while your armies conquer the north west. One way to cripple britania is to land an army in england. they dont defend the island at all and without it they cant do much. other then that good luck! if i have time i may try the save and c wat i can do

Try blockading to restrict the brutii's economy. There is obviously a bug with the Scipii but you're lucky - you can continue trading with them at least. You'll just have to have some forts with legions in at choke points like those in Sicily and southern spain.

Attacking the barbarians will be easy, you just have to hold the other romans off while you do it.

    1. blockade all ports

    2. The enemy of ur enemy is ur friend. Get those enemies to attack Brutii and Scipii

    3. Fight defensively against Scipii

    4. After building alot of artillery and interspersing with ur best armies, send those armies to attack the Brutii. Artillery comes in handy when ur being charged by a big clump of enemies. Keep them near each other, and always remember to keep the terrain in mind. a good bridge is prime ground for knocking out a few enemy stacks. Ambushes, if you can pull them off, work great for this too.

This should take care of the Brutii, and then the Scipii will be a piece of cake.
Of these facts there cannot be any shadow of doubt: for instance, that civil society was renovated in every part by Christian institutions; that in the strength of that renewal the human race was lifted up to better things-nay, that it was brought back from death to life, and to so excellent a life that nothing more perfect had been known before, or will come to be known in the ages that have yet to be. - Pope Leo XIII
