Economic recovery

Can someone tell me a little about the bill the senate is now working on... last thing I heard about a potential stimulus check by Obama would be 1000 dollars at least. What is the facts here... I have filed my taxes already and was wondering what the stimulus will be since I never got the last one from Bush.

I know this is not the best attitude to have, but I'm so upset with the lack of controls put on the first stimulus package (ie, no requirement for the banks to actually start giving out the money they received), for my own mental well-being I'm not focusing too much on this one.

Just kind of along for the ride, wherever the winds lead me.

I hope that it doesn't pass. They are just wasting invisible money and rising the debt & inflation %

Those American's should get a job and/or spend less. All you need is a little bit of money for food and water each day to live. If you can't afford both then just buy food and live by a water fountain.

First, there might not be any "checks in the mail." That was largely seen as a failure...to stimulate the economy. So that might be replaced with a reduction in your taxes (i.e. you'll get a little more each pay period)...

Next, if you were eligible for the check last year and didn't get it...it may be possible to still receive it...but you'd have to find out how on your own...I just know you can still get it.

Lastly, that "$1,000.00" figure was for families not single people without children. For single people they were discussing $500.00...emphasis on past tense, as I said 'stimulus checks' are not being viewed as stimulating to the economy.
