    Default Recruitable Generals

    I have RTR Platium 1.9 with BI installed. I would like to get the "Recruitable Generals" mod installed without any other stuff. Is it possible to get a stand alone "Recruitable Generals" mod? Any help would be very appreciated.

    Where is the 'recruitable general' mod sourced from? What else is included in the mod?

    I finally found out what was needed! I downloaded the Promethean Legions add on for the Extended mod. I copied the "Recruitable Generals" section from the export_descr_buildings.txt and copied it into my RTR Platium export_descr_buildings.txt. No need to do anything to the export_descr_unit files. Now I can recruit generals in any faction I choose to plaly!!

    Ah, excellent idea. Don't forget to delete any recruitable generals for factions that aren't in RTRPE. I don't believe you found the Promethean add-on back, though. How old is that?

    I got Promethean add-on from Candelarius Extended Realism site: http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=55919. I realize that this is an older site but all I was interested was the "Recruitable Generals" portion of the the export_descr_buildings.txt. I have installed Candelarius' Tweaks mod and am right now playing Bactria.

    Thats a nice touch of recruitable Generals .. and i think u guys should put some more "historical " guys in roman faction , Carthage got Hannibal Barca but i never Gaius Scipius , Julius or Marc Anthony lol dont recall the true name of Julius Caesar but only reference in some card infos u never actually have him , which for a game called rome is kinda "incomplete" .
    They could come with a trait of legendary , historical figures that were known and were important in their faction and this not only for rome .

    So should be read in trait : " Without knowing it this person is to be remembered forever for its deeds and the ones who folllowed him proud of his name and history " + 2 to comand , + 2 to manage .

    That or a more accurate typo for each "legendary " character .

    Hi -- I'm playing Non-BI RTRPE1.9. Is this Recruitable Generals add-on compatible with the version I'm playing? If not, is a compatible Recruitable Generals add-on available?
    Thanks,
    CK

    Wow, I didn't know that my old Extended Realism mod thread was still around....be warned, that's for an older version of RTR, and only skilled modders should use "pieces and parts" of that old project.

    No, but you can modify it as discussed above. Please note that it may not work without BI, but I don't think you'll break anything.

    That's great mcsquared, I followed what you said and got it working for me. I think it makes the game so much more enjoyable when you can recruit generals in a pinch. You just have to have the right timing when recruiting generals. I wish it didn't affect your family members bearing children.

    It also helps to reduce the generals' bodyguards' upkeep to 0 so you don't spend half your income on general upkeep.

    I have a small question, I dont think its worth making a thread for. How can i build Phalynx's as the Greeks? I mean what buildings are needed?

    You mean macedonian style phalanx? Actually they are not available for Greeks, iirc. The Epirotes in ExRM do have those units, but they arenīt part of GCS in game, they are one of the factions, though.

    Edit:
    iirc = if i recall correctly
    GCS = Greek City States
    ExRM = Extended Realism Mode
