Why doesnt my PC run this perfectly

I have Vista
4 gigs of ram
a geforce 9800 GT graphics card
a amd phenom 9650 quad core processor 2.3 ghz

define perfectly.what sort of results are you getting and what are you going for??

well any battle with 1500troops+ goes laggy on 6x speed
2500 on 2x speed
3000 on regular speed

Sounds normal to me. The game only uses one core of your cpu.

Yeah, you can see that as the problem, teh game only uses 1 core.

oh, thanks for the responses, going a little off topic, do you think empire total war will run good on my pc since it supports quad core?

You should overclock your CPU if you want better performance.

That can lead to other problems, including heat.
