    Default New Hampshire- Disturbing signal

First I wanna say: Donīt bash the messenger, I just offer the following news. Hereīs some excerpts of an act sent to all members of the senate and the president of the United States:

"That the Constitution of the United States, having delegated to Congress a power to punish treason, counterfeiting the securities and current coin of the United States, piracies, and felonies committed on the high seas, and offences against the law of nations, slavery, and no other crimes whatsoever;. . . . . therefore all acts of Congress which assume to create, define, or punish crimes, other than those so enumerated in the Constitution are altogether void, and of no force;"

    Sheesh, okay, letīs go on:

"That, therefore, all acts of Congress of the United States which do abridge the freedom of religion, freedom of speech, freedom of the press, are not law, but are altogether void, and of no force; . . . . ."

    WOW

"That any Act by the Congress of the United States, Executive Order of the President of the United States of America or Judicial Order by the Judicatories of the United States of America which assumes a power not delegated to the government of United States of America by the Constitution for the United States of America and which serves to diminish the liberty of the any of the several States or their citizens shall constitute a nullification of the Constitution for the United States of America by the government of the United States of America. Acts which would cause such a nullification include, but are not limited to:

    I. Establishing martial law or a state of emergency within one of the States comprising the United States of America without the consent of the legislature of that State.

II. Requiring involuntary servitude, or governmental service other than a draft during a declared war, or pursuant to, or as an alternative to, incarceration after due process of law.

III. Requiring involuntary servitude or governmental service of persons under the age of 18 other than pursuant to, or as an alternative to, incarceration after due process of law.

IV. Surrendering any power delegated or not delegated to any corporation or foreign government.

    V. Any act regarding religion; further limitations on freedom of political speech; or further limitations on freedom of the press.

VI. Further infringements on the right to keep and bear arms including prohibitions of type or quantity of arms or ammunition; and

That should any such act of Congress become law or Executive Order or Judicial Order be put into force, all powers previously delegated to the United States of America by the Constitution for the United States shall revert to the several States individually."

I am no lawer, but it makes me think of a break apart of the Union and a Civil War in the worst case.
I hope this note will never have to be made use of and the Obama Administration knows itīs borders.

As a follow-up to Xan's post, it was meant to point out that there are many things about American life today that are well outside those defined in the Constitution, beginning shall we say with our income tax. Why start ing about it now? Because we have a black President? A Democrat in office? I am more curious as to the motivations of the authors than to the actual proposal itself.

I think thereīs several messages implied in this:

    a) to avoid further erodation of the bill of rights that took place under Bush

    b) to send a clear signal to washington, that mutiny is not impossible

    c) in the worst case scenario, this is more than a warning, but a document written in anticipitation of the things to come

    Time will show.

Life is not the same as it was in 1776 and the founders realized that as time changes so should the government. They created a Constitution that could be amendable, that doesnt mean I support Patriot Act bills though dont get me wrong.

We have a serious problem then. If the constitution is not being followed, then revolt is the obvious choice.

The income tax is not justifiable. Aaron Russo, god rest his jolly soul, was intelligent enough to point that out and show the hypocrisy and control the IRS and Federal reserve have over our system.

For almost 200 years the Constitution has not be followed...exactly.

Why do you conclude then that revolt is the choice now?

Pretty much. When it gets worse, you'll need to conduct a march on Washington.

And how do you explain away then that this revolt you predict will logically happen did not happen during the Depression, when the things you mention were even worse?

WW2 did, however. War would be the logical result from this if we are using history as an example.

Expect bloodshed to ensue in any case.

I guess that begs of the question, are you really going to risk all you have (most Americans still live in relative comfort, even with the shaky economy) and even if not followed to a t, a relatively free government in which citizens are allowed to participate with ease if they so wish? Basically, is the juice worth the squeeze?

We dont need a full on rebellion, we simply need for people to get off their asses and start paying attention.
