a few questions...

alright, since my France campaign in the new version (you know, 0.99.20) got screwed up, i decided to play as my old buddies....uhm well, yes, then English.


so i was playing a few turns and these questions came into my head:
1. i remember the Anglo-Saxon fyrdmen to be 0-turn rectruitment, why are they (and the rest wich used to be 0 turn) suddenly 1-turn now? i thought the 0-turn recruitment was ment to be realistic since lords could scramble armies very fast.

2. my favorite unit: why are they so ugly? i'm talking about the Norman-Men-At-Arms, is this to differ them from the other Men-At-Arms....i just don't like those bright colors in a Medieval mod.


can someone answer this....btw, i'm reaaaaally enyoing the mod right now that all the tech-trees are in order!

re 1 - yes i did recently again some balancing things also in this regard.
In case of the Saxon Fyrdmen, it is very realistic that he isn't instantly available for Norman lords ... and especially Fyrdmen are free men, not serfs/levies bounded to a Norman occupied feudum.

re 2 - This model is one of the oldest one ever created in ChivTW, reactivated and needs normally some reskinning, yes, i hope we get such a support by unit artists soon

re:re 1 : i understand, but it was a general question you know. (general in the sence of "everything" , if it sounds confusing since there are generals in Chiv )

I have done a quite medium big list of units that need skin/model improvements.

And yes, i'm happy to say that a once in the past very famous guy calling Dirty Peasant* came recently back to ChivTW to help out for unit corrections/ammendments.

Atm. he is working on 2 units: Early Hospitaller and Early Templar Knight.

I hope he has still more time and will invest more time to improve units from my list, while we will always keep the known Chiv I TW style.
You won't see units in M2TW style, because it is just a kind of Chiv I TW trademark that we keep rather a unique unit design or one could also say, rather a M1TW style, and i like it

*some of the old TWC members will know him.

sounds great! i'm in the mood to kill more Templars, so more Templars will be good (the mood to kill Templars is the fault of Assasin's Creed )

You might need to play Chiv in multiplayer then, as Templars are recruitable in the later campaign in the Levante regions only, and at best it would be with the upcoming campaign 'The Crusader Epoche'. They will be hard to kill, one of the best available knights.
