    Default Speakers

Well, ok here is a super noob question that I never dreamt of asking: How do I connect my speakers to my desktop? I have done it before with the same speakers and I am following the same way: I connect the speakers to the subwoofer (or whatever it's called) correctly ( Iplug in the negative and positive cables where I have to) and then I connect the subwoofer's green cable to the sound card (I plug it in the green thingy in the back of the PC tower). What do I do wrong? The realtek sound manager says that I device has been pluged in and I have to identify it. I identify it as output but still nothing happens. I have no sound .

    Any help is appreciated.......
