I wonder, does anyone play using the slow animation for campaign map characters? The fast one should be made default, it's a bother that the game switches to slow every time you load or start a new game.

Yeah I never use slow, but it doesn't take much just to press the space bar once at the start.I used to track AI on their turns but have turned it off now to speed up turn time.

Frankly I like the slow animations because so one can follow the moves unhurriedly.
I also use to read a book or do some warm-ups if played a long time during the ai moves.
I never use it, <Space Bar> is the first key I press after loading a game.
I only use slow animations when I have FOW on, for example I'll send a spy into unknown territory slowly so I will be able to press backspace if I spot something I didn't know was there and I want to change the direction the spy or an army is moving.
Hey zOb that does make sense. When a characters zips to its destination you frequently miss things along the route. Also, I think that using the slow mo you could avoid bumping into obstacles.
But then, who has the patience? Dilemma...![]()
Go to your SS cfg file and under game put this line:
[game]
campaign_map_speed_up = 1
You'll have fast animations from the start!![]()
