Can't start game

Greetings, I have reloaded RTw Gold, no patches yet, I try and run it, and I get an error message telling me to use the correct CD and restart. I have rebooted.


Help please.

Well, you don't need patches for RTW Gold. You probably need a reinstall.

I JUST loaded it...maybe two hours ago...fresh

Oh, you mean loaded as in installed. I see. Well, if that's the problem, you just put your CD into the CD drive, then try launching the game again. When it says 'restart' it means restart the application, not the whole computer.

Is this this first time that you've installed RTW Gold on this PC? I presume the RTW Gold you have is a single DVD-ROM with both games on it.

Were there any error messages during the install process?

The only time you can get such a message is when you've downgraded the RTW to 1.2 by running the 1.2 patch (which then appears to want the original set of 3 CD-ROMS). The only other time is when a different disk is being used than was used to install the game in the first place (or you have a RTW BI disk and you're trying to launch RTW).
