Capture Settlement

I just now (Janurary 2009) stumbled across this mod, and think it's great.

Playing the roman campaign, besieging Pyrrhus in Tarentum.
One of their family members outside the city attacks me, I win the battle, win the city. Click occupy. CTD.

It sounds like the exterminate/enslave/occupy CTD but I played hundreds of battles that way in vanilla and other mods,it never crashed.
Why would this hamppen now, in DarthMod?

never happened that CTD to me in darth's mod. did u install it, in a fresh rtw installation? did u follow the instructions? if it keeps doing it, then i would uninstall everything (rtw and mod) and install them again just in case. that way it would work!

It was a clen install, but there is one thing that is strange...
I had RTW installed in 'c:\Rome' before, now I have it installed it in 'c:\Rome\RTW',
but the patch 1.3 still thinks its in 'c:\Rome'.
The patch installation window shows these three options, modify, repair and remove.
If I hit modify, the patch installs nothing, runs for a second, just says it's finished and the game is still v.1.0.
If I hit repair, it will install all the files into 'c:\Rome'.
I then movevd the newly installed files into 'c:\Rome\RTW' and the 1.5 patch just installed it right to 'c:\Rome\RTW'?!
The game seemed to work, but I cant get the 1.3 patch to install it to the right path.

Edit: I figured it out. I uninstalled only "Rome - Total War", so the patch 1.3 still thought it was there.
I also had to uninstall the patch seperately.

But that does probably not explain that CTD.

probably your installation is mixed up in a way and that causes the crashes to desktop.
i got a bit confused with the patch 1.3 you mentioned. did you installed the mod and then you tried to install the patch? if you did that, then it is wrong.
first, install the game and then the patches (if you have to do it. i have gold edition and i do not have to install patches) and then install the mod!

No. What I mean is, that I installed RTW + patches, uninstalled RTW, and assumed the patches were also uninstalled.
But the 1.3 patch was still there and therefore I could not install it again when I was reinstalling.

That crash might have something to do with the patch, but I don't think so.
Well now I have a completely clean reinstall, and I will post if the error occurs again.

I get this CTD sometimes too. Its really irritating when you flush 45 mins down the drain on a siege that crashes after you win with no way of possibly saving inbetween.

Weird thing is that after I reinstalled yet again I got no more crashes.
