Default Installing SS under somewhere other than "Mods"

So, I installed Hegemony mod about a week ago- found I didn't really like it all that much. I'm fairly certain there isn't an option to uninstall it so I just deleted SS, and reinstalled. Sadly now when I start the game up, some units still have the names of the Hegemon mod. I feel weird having Broken Lances Named "Auxiliary Legionnaires " ect... So I deleted all of M2TW and reinstalled that and SS. Now I start SS up and STILL have these names. Please note the unit cards are correct, aswell as in game skins... just the names. Also for Early Era campgin it has the Hegemon option.. Genoa is named "Greek cities" ect...

So, seeing as though hegemon seeems to want to stay under the file of C:\Program Files (x86)\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\mods\Stainless_Steel_6

Where can I POSSIBLY download SS and have it work normallly? How can I make a copy of it, anything so I can play it un-adultured. I made a file named "mod" and DL'ed it there.. got an error message saying "Cannot find kingdoms.exe"... so I guess making a new folder doesn't work... so, any ideas?

PS: OS vista, if you didn't get the x86 =P

Vista keeps files cached here for quick loading.

    C:\Users\user name\AppData\

    Look in there.

Cleitanous is correct. Vista stores files for this game as "compatibility files" eleswhere on your hard drive that you'll need to delete. There is a sticky FAQ thread for vista users at the top of this forum.

Ok, thanks a lot guys. Shoulda looked harder, my bad.

Also now in my haste of getting ride of this, I got rid of my SS shortcut... so I have to go all the way through my computer to program file x86 to the SS folder JUST to click on the Windows batch file *head desk* anyway around this? Yes I'm an uber computer noob.

alt-drag the .bat file onto your desktop to make a new shortcut on your desktop. It won't have the special icon though by default, you can change that in the shortcut's properties afterwords though.
