    Default Refighting battles

Ok a question I am wondering if the people out there refight some of the battles. You know the situation its a close battle and about half way through you think i am loosing this.

Do you fight on and accept the defeat or do you have a rethink on your tactics and fight the battle a differant way. Obviously you will not do it every time and if you are fighting a much bigger army no amount of new tactics will change the result. But in a close battle a differant tactic can make all the differance.

    Just wondering.

I personally don't. I actually don't ever save my game, except for when im quitting it at a certain point or quitting it all together. I find that you only cheat yourself if you fight a battle and lose and then just reload it, kinda takes away from the game for me. I guess it motivates me to fight the best battle I can given the troops I have..

I only replay if I lose as a consequence of my PC lagging. I do sometimes practice in a custom battle before a battle in the campaign. (for instance try different tactics with my army against an army similar to that i'm about to face in the campaign).

I always fight on. Do as much damage as possible, try to save my general. Game is so easy as it is, a rare loss from time to time isn't much of a setback.

Also, if your infantry line routs and you think you're probably going to lose, set your missile units on skirmish and try to kill off any/all enemy cavalry. Its amazing how many lost battles I've managed to win just by doing this. The AI infantry is too stupid to box in your skirmish mode archers and chases them around forever. At any given time about half of them will be shooting and the rest running. Eventually, the enemy infantry are exhausted and at much reduced strength. If you still have any cav or infantry at all, now is the time rout isolated enemy units. When your archers finally run out of ammo, use them as infantry. They're faster than enemy infantry, so you should be able to get all of them on one enemy unit to rout it.
