    Default error installing the retrofit mod 1.0

    I am having trouble installing the retrofit mod 1.0 to my 1.05 version of medieval 2 gold (medieval 2 and kingdoms). This is the error I am recieving at the begining of installation, right after the download:

    "ERROR: Setup was unable to find a valid Medieval II Total War: Kingdoms installation. The Retrofit Mod version 1.0 requires Medieval II Total War: Kingdoms. Setup Aborted."

    I have a legal DVD-rom version of Medieval 2 Total War gold Edition, why the setup can't find it, i have no idea. i've serached on the web and no one else seems to have had this problem.

    How to I fix this error?

    i get the same the error but i also get a similar error when i try to install kingdoms patches

    When did you install M2TW and kingdoms? Did you reinstall windows?

    Did you try reinstalling the whole game?
