Default Alphadelta, How about an 1860's US Civil War Mod ?

Hi,since doing so munch FKOC videos,i've noticed that the battlefield could
look like an 1860's us civil war battlefield if we only changed the units. The
LAKOTA CAMPAIGN mod by KUNGFUSERGE has already the right hat for the
union cavalry,it's got artillery units( all have to be re textured for historical
    authenticity)
the best news is that he left it there for anybody else to use to start
    new mod.

ok here is my short video to show what i'm talking about.

& also my 2 FKOC videos that has the battlefield landscape scenes that got me thinking about a m2tw us civil war mod

i've got exactly same idea yesterday when i played FKOC for the first time and hear battle music. one of the songs included in this mod was used in game Sid Meier's Gettysburg i was playing maybe 15 years ago. it would be a great effort to bring generals Lee and Grant to Total War World!

Hi, i was watching gettysburg the movie last night on youtube and recognized some of the fife & drums music from the FKOC game.I have to get in contact with alphadelta about this us civil war
mod possibilty.i know that a mod like that, on m2tw format would totally invade the game market
has soon that it would come out. They are about 1.6 million sites dedicated to the u.s civil war.

or you could just wait for empires and mod that, since the game engine would be better suited for that type of warfare

I'm happy that you can wait, me i can't,since i've all the tools and info i need to mod at twc...

Fkoc has been created on the m2tw format and is going great because so many people (including me) can handle the fokc data file, etc...a us civil war using the same m2tw format would get the same advantages. that's is of course, only my personal opinion

I agree with Templar_Knight, if we wait patiently like good catholic schoolboys, we will be rewarded with a mod/expansion?? For the American Civil War. I love lemondrops by the way.

I'd love to have a ACW mod for Med2 but I'm not going to make it.

It's definitely doable and would follow the same pattern set by FKOC. However one big consideration would be bayonets and how capable they'd be against cavalry.

As far as the bayonet animation goes you may want to speak to Banzai. His AOR colonies mod expands into the 18th century featuring full bayonet combat with some pretty convincing animations, might be worth a shot to talk to him

An ACW mod would be far more suitable to an E:TW base.

still, some people do not plan on getting empire, due to spec requirements etc..

anyway someone is making a kingdoms mod based on the empire tw time frame, which looks

The bayonets.... You could just make his melee weapon a two handed sword that looks like a gun with a bayonet in it. Wouldn't be very historical to instantly change bayonets, but it could work...

wait until ETW comes out and they get modding tools you will get better results because the ACW is just out of the medieval era and the fighting styles have changed alot.

Thanks for the advice,i'm still testing with m2tw (will have a new video to show soon),but now i have to admit that i'm not totally closed to the idea of waiting for etw,but practicing with m2tw only help me get better at understanding the in and out of modding.

An American civil war mod would be great and I would play it but Take Command 2 Manassas is superb ive all the new maps like Chattanooga , Antietam, the wilderness and others installed and Pea ridge and Shiloh complete with gun boats is on the way soon . Gettysburg’s out this year and I cant wait.
The Mod of all mods for me would be the Zulu war some guys have started working on it for MTW2

    http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=218581&highlight=zulu

I really hope and pray they see it through as incredibly there has never been any type of Zulu game ever. It would be totally awesome and would play really well on MTW2. I have zero ability or talent when it comes to computers but I hope these guys get encouragement and help from people who are talented.
As for For King or Country its superb and will remain on my computer for a long long time.
