Of Elrond

Elrond of Imladris, which is often called Rivendell
Son of Elwing and Eärendil, noblest of kin
Founded a haven, safe for Man and Elf
In Rhudaur, greenest of lands, free of sin

On the falls of Bruinen, under the red sun's cover
It was a place for Elves to dwell and recover
In the Third of Ages, it was the house of Arwen
And later also of Aragorn, great king of Men

Vilya is the Ring that Elrond keeps
The cause of Rhudaur's splendour and light
Though it was only used for things fair and right

A great warrior too he was called
Hadhafang he wielded, sword of Elven steel
And though at Dagorlad, the Ring's fate was stalled
The fury of Elrond

Darklord Sauron surely did feel
