Setup needs disc 2... not working!?!

Hello... anybody who can help? I'm trying to install Medieval Total War, as I've done before, but this time everything stops when Setup say's "Setup needs disc 2, please insert"... whenever I do this it won't react... instead it reads disc 2 as a complete new disc... if I ignore and press the button "OK" in setup, to tell that I've put disc 2 in drive "D", it only shows the "timeglass", and nothing happens... no matter how long time I've been waiting!?!

I've tried other games, and they do the same... all games that needs more than one disc, stops when setup needs disc 2

I have Windows XP Pro

Please help...

If it happens with all of the games that require more than one disc, then the problem lies not in your copy of MTW2, but in your system. Either have your PC checked, or reinstall Windows.

Have you updated to XP SP3? Could be a driver in there you need updated.

I'm trying with You guys first... because I don't want to reinstall Windows... but I will surely check my updates... thank You for answering!!!
And if anybody having a good idea to solve the problem without reinstalling windows, I would me much grateful...
