    Default A few questions

I'm playing the Sassanian campaign with IJ 2.01a on huge setting. Any answers would be appreciated.

    1) Have the fatigue parameters been altered? It seems my cavalry and infantry get "tired" way too fast, especially my bodyguard units. They shoot their arrows and they are already tired before I can charge with them. I realize cataphract-type troops tire faster than lighter troops but it seems a bit exaggerated in this mod.

    2) What specifically does the shield wall do for the unit? I realise that the tighter formation means it's harder to penetrate and that will result in less casualties.
But Does it make the unit tire faster? Does it make the unit walk slower when in shieldwall? Should you activate guard mode too if you're in shieldwall - I noticed it doesn't automatically do that.

    3) Sassanians seem to have 3 types of bodyguard units with slight variations in their stats and weapons. Is there anywhere I can get more info on these units? Why do some generals get different types of bodyguards than others, and what exactly is the difference?

    4) Where can I find info on how religion works in this mod?

    5) In my campaign, I'm playing on Medium battles/Hard campaign. I'm around 10 or 12 turns into the campaign and I'm ripping up. I've taken over 5 or 6 roman cities and 2 armenian cities and the AI just isn't bringing enough full stacks to deal with my assaults. Is it more advisable to play on VH campaign? Will that make a difference?

I've notesed that the units in shieldwall rest slower (sometimes they stay exausted for the rest of the battle).

Just imagine you have to carry such a heavy armor and to fight within
    It is intended.

Shieldwall increases the defense value of that unit.
However, you get less mobile and very slowmoving.

There is only a Sassanian bodyguard unit.
Only at gamestart you get more (because it was fixed).
That has already been changed in the next version.

The mod is made to be challenging when playing as romans, that's why the sassanids are a bit overpowered to make up for the crappy AI.
I suggest playing as romans or on VH/VH or just giving them a bunch of money or armies in descr_strat.
Also the romans don't have many high barracks in the east in the beginning of the game, so they can't really train anything that could rival you.

Well...the thing is, I don't want to set battles on VH because unit stats become pretty much meaningless as AI units get bonuses.

However, what I'd like to know is whether increasing the campaign difficulty to VH for a new campaign will make any difference. Is there a big diff. between H and VH? If not, will giving AI factions extra money in my current campaign actually result in a more fun and challenging campaign?

Here's another unrelated question: if I change my options (to 4tpy) do I have to start another campaign for those changes to take effect?

I don't think so. I guess that what is going to happen is that your campaign will 'go back in time' . But I'm not sure. Let us know, ok?

change in the number of turns per year thru installing new options takes place everytime you run script, so you dont need to start new campaign. script is activated by clicking on advisor in the start of every game, so there is no need to start whole campaign.

Limit your forces and form your units after a more historic correct context.
Only a few Savaran, many Paighan and light cavalry.
