Anyone else do this?
As England, my Conquering King died shortly after the capture of this Moorish Castle, in his honor the castle was named after him. Apparently, hundreds of years later, a plastic wrap brand was also named after him, lol.

As for the Paladin, the battle with the Dragon isn't the danger, it's the battle in the heart that he must be wary of.
is it possible??
if my emperor is soo famous and stuff?
What do you mean "is it possible"? Of course it's possible. :p
Just click the text in the "Settlement Overview" window and start typing...
I also rename my settlements to include what type of settlement they are in the name. Like Nottingham is now called "Fortress Nottingham" etc.

ohhoo thnks for the enlightmenti will sure do that
I do usually rename Constantinople when capturing it. Either into Byzantium or Istanbul. For purpose of other settlements, only when I think there's a good Dutch name for it. But usually Dutch doesn't change names.
The English came up with new names for everything, so I figure it's only fitting. Maybe I'll start using the names they named the colonies.![]()

I wouldn't rename stuff if you are running the Basiliea ton Romaion submod. It relies on specific settlement names for the historic events that occur. Not sure if renaming them in the game will stuff up the script or whether the campaign script can still see the original names. But better to be safe than sorry![]()
I better watch my step - in my Mongol campaign, I've been re-naming like no ones business - cities named after the conquerer etc etc

I tend to be wildly mature about this sort of thing, and go out of my way to capture Jerusalem, Constantinople, Mecca and Medina as variants on the name "Penisland".
I freaking hate religious zealotry!

Awwww, I'm sorry, CC!
Don't worry, I intend to put them back in with slight modification; I just thought they were a little too specific in their historical details.
I like to rename settlements.
And yeah, I do occasionally name them after a general which I like.
Lol, I meant I feel those two events were due to a set of circumstances far, far, far too unique to be able to accurately replicate. The tweaking I'm planning to do (if at all possible) is change the Bulgarian Uprising to occur when a) anyone has control of the trigger settlements, the garrisons drop to a certain level and taxes aren't lowered for x number of turns
and
b) change the Fourth Crusade event to only launch if the Romans are at war with Venice (I'm not sure if the event launches if the Venetians are destroyed?)
