Transferring the scripts, traits,.... from 6.0 to Europe would be quite easy since all is modular
    But not my business

Since DLV is actually your creation, I can only assume that this last line means that Harry would need to transfer all scripts, traits, etc. to DLV Europa and after he did that, then it would be rather easy for you (repman) to implement the "updated" DLV Europa into DLV 6.0 if you so chose?

This is a fine idea and one you should pursue yourself personally. I do believe that Harry Lime and Repman should work on their own mods respectively. Not that I have any say in the matter, but I do believe they benefit from mostly similar but subtly different directions.

It is beyond my capabilities to pursue such an endeavor. Repman and Harry Lime are both Team DLV'ers, and as such, for something like this to ever come to fruition, it would be up to them entirely.

Sorry but this would be impossible - the reason that Harry made DLV Europa a stand-alone is because it is the only way to play it along side normal DLV.

You can't have them both in the same mod because then you're breaching the faction cap of 31, - since Europa and DLV both have different factions. - Maps and traits would work yes, but Units and Factions no.

    Sorry

not to mention that it was Harry's intention to make a DLV available that didn't have some of the later DLV features ( Gov point ect) of later versions. As many players would rather play a simplified version.

It's the nature of mods, I guess, you can't please all the people all the time.

    @fishy
DLV uses 29 playable factions. DLV Europa just takes out Aztecs, Milan, and (can't remember) and replaces with Mali, Wales, and Crown of Aragon. You say impossible, I say different folders, different pathing options, you might have something that would work. Frankly, it doesn't really matter because this would never happen anyway. Just dreaming out loud.

Yeah, and those that want to live in the world of "Harry's intention" could just play regular Europa.

And where do you get that it was his intention to not have some of the later DLV features? He used DLV 5.3 because that was the most recent version out when he started his mod, and it took a lot of time and work to get Europa done. It wasn't because he looked into his crystal ball and said, "Hey, I want to make sure to exclude features that don't even exist yet, from a version that hasn't been released."

Broken record time. It seems like every time someone has an idea for change (and no, not cav spread) or idea for something new, there you are being fececious (see above) or feeling like you have to defend DLV. That's getting old. Frankly, I would just like to be part of the 98 percentile that can actually get DLV Europa to work. God knows I've logged enough hours trying to figure out a solution for it with zero results. So forgive me for having an idea that would allow us 2%'ers to get a little taste of Europa.

Easy there buddy. If you read through the Europa beta thread you will see that lots of players were happy he was using an earlier version because they don't like some of the new features (including your pet peeve cav spread). And indeed, he was happy to oblige them.

I'm not saying you don't have a good idea.

You insinuate waaaaay too much. I've mentioned that I don't like the cav spread once, maybe twice, and usually with a disclaimer of sorts, and now it's my "pet peeve"? Ugh.

@Taiji - No, I haven't reinstalled my OS to try and get it working. And I won't. In a few weeks, Empire will be out and that's fine. I stopped playing everything M2TW, and would most likely stop coming to this website entirely, but I have a problem with a certain tool here.

From what I understood Wartower is suggesting a Europa mod based on DLV 6.0 (with all those new features implemented) as part of the DLV mod (placed in custom campaigns - a second choice after Historical campaign)
A mini-mod is never late! Nor is it ever early. It arrives precisely when I mean it to do!

Yeah in principle that sounds cool, mate.

DLV Europa based on version 6, to me this seems an obvious improvement or else why make subesquent versions of DLV which are worse than 5.3?

Even so, Europa is great already. Maybe we need a DLV6 based on Europa? :hmmm:

OK Agistournas, with your help and encouragement I've read the OP properly. Thankyou.

@Wartower, have you reinstalled your operating system in order to get Europa working? Just trying to work out whether you've done all you can to get it working

I do not understand. Is Wartower working on a DLV Europa 6.0 right now?
I got shocked the first time I stept in the script world, but good luck on creating your DLV-Wartower mod.

You need to be dedicated to finish a modding project on this scale.
Thorolf was thus armed. Then Thorolf became so furious that he cast his shield on his back, and, grasping his halberd with both hands, bounded forward dealing cut and thrust on either side. Men sprang away from him both ways, but he slew many. Thus he cleared the way forward to earl Hring's standard, and then nothing could stop him. He slew the man who bore the earl's standard, and cut down the standard-pole. After that he lunged with his halberd at the earl's breast, driving it right through mail and body, so that it came out at the shoulders; and he lifted him up on the halberd over his head, and planted the butt-end in the ground. There on the weapon the earl breathed out his life in sight of all, both friends and foes. [...] 53, Egil's Saga
I must tell you here of some amusing tricks the Comte d'Eu played on us. I had made a sort of house for myself in which my knights and I used to eat, sitting so as to get the light from the door, which, as it happened, faced the Comte d'Eu's quarters. The count, who was a very ingenious fellow, had rigged up a miniature ballistic machine with which he could throw stones into my tent. He would watch us as we were having our meal, adjust his machine to suit the length of our table, and then let fly at us, breaking our pots and glasses.
