Default Concerning the "crazy total war" ia

    Hello,
I am playing with the "crazy total war" ia, because I would like to play a short campaign this time, but I can't bear playing another mod than DLV. (6.0 hotfix 1)

But it seems to have a disfunction :
on the year 1200, every factions are in war. I thing it is the script of that "crazy total war" ia.

    But nobody make war :
indeed, I am english, and the scottish only have one town. Since 1200 (The year now is 1225), no faction gained any territory. Every body stay calm and there is no battle at all. I can win by attacking every body because every army get out of my way : they seem to be scared of me.

So : is there a way to "unlock" that ia ?
    Is it normal ?

(sorry for my horrible frenchy english)

    Sure you selected historical campaign?
Thorolf was thus armed. Then Thorolf became so furious that he cast his shield on his back, and, grasping his halberd with both hands, bounded forward dealing cut and thrust on either side. Men sprang away from him both ways, but he slew many. Thus he cleared the way forward to earl Hring's standard, and then nothing could stop him. He slew the man who bore the earl's standard, and cut down the standard-pole. After that he lunged with his halberd at the earl's breast, driving it right through mail and body, so that it came out at the shoulders; and he lifted him up on the halberd over his head, and planted the butt-end in the ground. There on the weapon the earl breathed out his life in sight of all, both friends and foes. [...] 53, Egil's Saga
I must tell you here of some amusing tricks the Comte d'Eu played on us. I had made a sort of house for myself in which my knights and I used to eat, sitting so as to get the light from the door, which, as it happened, faced the Comte d'Eu's quarters. The count, who was a very ingenious fellow, had rigged up a miniature ballistic machine with which he could throw stones into my tent. He would watch us as we were having our meal, adjust his machine to suit the length of our table, and then let fly at us, breaking our pots and glasses.

I assume he chose Total War style in the last drop down window at the beginning of the campaign (the YES option, I assume).

Unfortunately, I have never tried that option, so cannot help there. But I could suggest choosing the CIV option ( NO in the drop down window) and give a shot at a short campaign. It will not be that short though, but you will have enough fighting if you want.

I can't remember where I read it, but repman said that the Total War AI option didn't work so well on the Imperial (Main) Campaign. I can tell you for certain that it works quite well on the Historical Campaign. I was playing KoJ and not only was I unable to get a ceasefire, I was unable to get trade rights most of the time, and within 10 turns or so, Milan, Venice, and Sicily started taking turns blockading my ports. Total War is evil. Evil like Damien from the Omen evil.
