Default Russia says 'ice broken' in chilly NATO relations

Well, I am happy that such a direction is being undertaken in the International Security community. However, there are still major difficulties and there are still major actors within both NATO and Russia that would like to see difficulties. Not to tie Obama into this, but I have been noticing a thaw in relations ever since he got elected. Maybe this is the effect of a new administration in Washington, since the timing more or less coincides with it.

Or maybe it is the effect of Russia and others attempting to get something for nothing from the noob? In other words -- same old, same old.

Just in time for cooperation over Afganistan. The US needs to cooperate with Russia if it hopes to expand its campaign in Afganistan. And the Russians are more than happy to demand the recognition of their spheres of influence in Ukraine and other places.

There is no such thing as good or evil in politics. There are only interests and zones of interest which the powerful and intelligent convince the masses of retards to be moral obligations. And so the masses die in the thousands because they don't feel like thinking about what the hell is really going on.

And that's why I laugh at the mofos who come into threads and start spamming about how much of an ass hole Russia is.

Islamism is a threat. Even at the beginning of the 20th century, people saw it as a threat. I think there is something more to the Islamism that Al-Queda is preaching than meets the eye. An actual pan-arab league islamist empire could hold the world ransom with its oil. But who knows.

dont be silly, we could just invade and defeat such a force. besides, what are they ment to do for money if theyre not selling oil?

kudos to russia though for its diplomatic victories of late.. it knows it has america over a barrel, for now.. and europe for the forseeable future.

So ice is broken...first date will probably be soon...let's hope they don't start banging again
I samo dotle, do tog kamena,do tog bedema,
Nogom ces stupit, mozda poganom, drznes li dalje?...Cuces gromove
    Kako tisinu zemlje slobodne...Sa grmljavinom strasnom kidaju;
Razumeces ih srcem strasljivim...Sta ti sa smelim glasom govore,
Pa ces o stenja tvrdom kamenu
    Brijane glave teme celavo
    U zanosnome strahu lupati...
    Al' jedan izraz, jednu misao,
    Čućeš u borbe strašnoj lomljavi:
    "Otadžbina je ovo Srbina!..."

This is only because US needs supply routes through Russia and relations with Pakistan are worse than ever.

This is also a great chance for Russia to gain more influence at US's expence as well as disrupt build of US backed Nabucko pipeline.

So much for a break in the ice if some of the russian cheerleaders see it as a chance for Russian to seize a bigger slice of something neither the US or Russia have a right to, influence over a third party country. So um yeah?

You arent a realist, you are just someone making excuses for one nation's imperalistic aims.

Anyway I stand by what I said, any attempts to excuse the overreaching aims of a country to project its dominance on a region, be Russia in eastern europe, America in the middle east etc isnt being a realist but an apologist.

It never ceases to amaze me just how stupid Putin thinks the West is. Does he really imagine we don't recognise this garbage? It's no different from his manoeuvres that left the buffoon W. Bush convinced that he had "looked into his eyes" and knew "he was a man of peace".

    LAWL

yeah and we eat babies too

but seriously "The West" ( as used by its enemies) is hardly an accurate term since each country has its own agenda like look at how Italy are really friendly with Russia for example.

This is the problem I feel.

That's I always bracket "the West". And seriously - "enemies"? Russia is all but an enemy of the West, it's an opponent but it's also is a partner.

Seriously, who do you think Putin is anyway? Putin only uses the opportunity that was presented to him by "the West". As for garbage, US needs supply routes through Russia and not the other way around.
