Default Rebel army in the river..

Im having a problem in my Portugal campaign, not really a big thing but its really annoying.
Just by this river passing there is standing a rebel army that cant be attacked, it spreads devestation and my armies have to wait one turn extra everytime they are going to pass the river.
Does anyone know how to get rid of the army?

It seems to be a bug, have you tried bribing?

Cant interact with him at all. No one can him reach when he stands there. :/

I've had this problem as well. on exactly the same place. I placed an army into the fort and one on the other side of the river; then I attacked the rebel army with the army from the fort!

It was a small enemy army though. He fled!
    try it with big armies!

    yes

you should select the guy, then move him via console.

the appropiate sintaxis i am not sure of, but you can search google for it, try for pages with medieval 2 "cheat codes"... i believe is something like "move norvengian_rebel 120 80" (where the numbers are X,Y coordinates for the target position)

also, some times the "game name" of the unit is not the "shown name", therefore "albert the bad" might as well be "normandy_rebel_2".

if you want to move him you will have to look his real name up in the text section inside dlv/data/text that deals with rebel names.

you can see coordinates by typing some code like "this_coord", it will give you the coordinates of the actual cursor position, again look for the code at a cheats page or wait for someone to put it here.

I can find the place to look up the name, although his name is just "Abadai" and i have tried to move him with cheats (move_character "Abadai" x,y)
But he just wouldnt move, maybe i cant move rebels? :hmmm:

there is not only a list of plain names, but there is also a list that scripts rebel appearing, if you are lucky there would be a list and "abadai" will be the name property of a rebel leader entry, wich in turn will have a name like the one mentioned before.

i just dont remember wich file it was.. run a search for FURINīs explanation on how to change location of forts and how to edit rebel armies.. maybe there is a hint.

btw, have you tried without the " " ?

I searched all documents in my data folder and the only folder containing the word "Abadai" was the different name folders (names.txt, descr_names.txt and descr_names_lookup.txt). Although they contained no clues to what his "real" name could be.

I also had a quick look in Furins thread but i didn't find anything. :/

And yes, i have tried without the ".
The " is needed when it's a first name and a surname, with just a firstname it usually works without the ".

    the files i meant were:

    Medieval 2\mods\DLV_ext\data\world\maps\campaign\imperial_campaign\descr_strat.txt

    same folder, campaign script.txt

in the first you have a declaration list of settlements and starting characters belonging to the rebel faction. you have the names of the fortified and the roaming ones too.

in the second you have the actual name of some starting rebel leaders, in the first paragraphs you will find some rebels named "random_name" (bad luck) or "arhus_leader" for example.

well.. try the oporto one, then the nearest provinces, if that doesnt work...

btw, the guy spawned there or he was pushed?

In those files i only find "random_name, named character" so i guess i had no luck there.
He spawned there sometime in the first few turns so he wasn't pushed.

I will have a look in the forums you suggested musicdemon.

I can not access the image in your first post, so I will try to give you a solution, without knowing where this is happening.
If the character spawned there, then he must be somewhere in the campaign script.txt - which is in your imperial campaign folder.
    - Move your cursor over the character,
    - Activate the console,
    - Type show_cursorstat and you will get values for x, y.
    - Then open campaign script.txt and press Ctrl+F.
    - Try to find which character is spawned at the specific x, y.
    - Then you can edit the campaign script.txt by adding +1 to the x or y value and you are done!
If this doesn't help you, then tell me the x or y valuesyou are getting with the console command and I will try to fix it for you.
    Cheers

Is their a console command to clear a tile? You might want to ask one of the technical modding sub-forums. I'm not quite sure which one, and I've gotta run, but I'm sure someone could help you there.

That bug's been around for a while, and I've complained about it a few times.

There's a workaround though: Build a watchtower closeby. The army will move off of the river and onto the tower.

I think there's another River-army somewhere in Egypt, as well.
