M2TW Gold (major install problem)

So, I tried to reinstall M2 after several CTD´s and got problems re-installing... In the first instance I tried delete the map (cause for some reason all the uninstall options wouldn´t work) then I tried to delete all the registry keys named SEGA...

this lead to a error during install that said something about the language was wrong... I found in the support section here a reg file that fixes this problem... when I tried again everything works fine except that the computer seems to think I still have M2TW installed but not kingdoms!!!

after the setup screen I am prompted to choose wich kingdoms expansions I would like to have, and if I continue I get an error message that explains that the original Medieval 2 must be installed... BUT THAT IS WHAT I AM TRYING TO INSTALL!!!! *puff wheeze*

so.... My guess is that it has something to do with the registry, but what???

Are you using Vista?
