    This will be included in the next patch (ChivII:SV 3.3), and it is an update to the full darkage campaign.

    First post updated with Banners and Cavalry.

    This is laying the foundation for this type of campaign. I already have one planned for the Norman conquest of Sicily, with a map of Sicily) as well.

    It looks promising.

    The map for this campaign would just be Sicily and the tip of Calabria.

    The factions would be The Normans, Sicilian-Greeks, and few Siqilli Emirates.

    You are a warrior poet my friend Thanks

    I will try to get more into this release, but I don't really want to delay it much longer. Between the Rusichi Rus, DG's Saxons, and my Muslim reskin, this is shaping up to be a major renovation.

    BTW, the NE & SE peasants and peasant archers have been remade based on the Coerls and Geburs. The pitchforks are gone

    @DV

    The Ridehere are just light cavalry raiders, you will definitely not be doing great cavalry charges with these guys.

    The Duke of Dunwich and surrounding fiefdom

    For any who are interested by my FF on occurrences in Rhun and beyond; I have begun a new project (not because the old one is finished, just opening more room for ideas) about one of the minor characters, Rankal. It is in the Third Age AAR index and here is the link http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=376994

    Yay, no more garishly coloured saxons!

    I always sorta avoided the saxons because they looked a bit wrong...

    This was the first pass as naming. I had a tough time finding a name for the cavalry, so I settled on Ridehere. I believe it means something like raiders in Anglo-Saxon.

    Cynges Huscarls is another I wasn't very sure. I suppose I could use Thingmen?

    @all

    They now look and feel like a completely new faction I will post the stat banners shortly.

    Ridehere - as the Anglo-Saxon speech is mainly direct derived from the old germanic Saxon speech of the North-German Saxons and Angles, who are the ancestors of the Anglo-Saxons, i would assume, Ridehere means something like Rider-Herban (riderarmy) or Riderlords (noble rider).

    Even the local "Plattdeutsch"-accents (= "flat-german"-accents) in northern Germany, which are used by the provincial people still todays (but are just the old forms of the local north-german speeches), have still a lot similarities to the modern and surely to the old english and thus old anglo-saxon speeches.

    - The word Ride ~ Rider ~ Ridder ~ Reiter ~ Ritter -> the latter is the modern high-german word for Knight; Reiter means just Rider

    - Ridehere ~ Her ~ Herr ~ Heer -> todays high-german word Herr means Mister, or also Sir / Lord in a broader sense; todays high-german word Heer means army.

    So we could assume Ridehere would mean Reiterheer -> in plural expression of the Riderarmy or in singular it could mean Reiterherr in expression of Riderlord or Noble Rider ~ as pre-form of Knight (modern engl.) = Ritter (modern german).

    Thingmen - no, please not Thingmen. "Thingmen" are rather the Theigns

    Edit: I forgot to mention that Saxon armies didn't comprise of active cavalry forces, afaik. They fought on food, even if a few would ride to the battle.

    I am really liking this faction, so it is highly likely.

    For now, I suppose you could think of the upper left corner of the Darkage campaign as 1066 lite. We just need an emergent Norman faction.

    The leaders title is Cynge and the heir is Aetheling, so I decided to use Cynges Huscarls for the bodyguard.
