    Default Shadowing faction

I don't know if it has been yet implemented but I would like to see Shadow Factions as was in ROME BI, for this mod.
First cause it would be very nice to see a noble rebel faction that could make your empire tremble.
Second cause it could give more importance to the loyalty of the generals.
Third cause it could bring this mod to much history accuracy.

What you think about this? is this possible?.

Thanks for this great mod anyway

It would be great like you say but sadly it is impossible. Each shadow faction requires a free faction slot and we have none, we already have the maximum possible factions.

Such a shame though, it would be really cool.

Agree, that would be nice but as Taiji said the faction cap has been hit. Could do a little mini mod though that replaces the Native American and Desert tribe factions and such, would be interesting.

A new faction is not going to happen. But is it possible to make one region for each faction, who act as a (historic)rebel spawn point? This one region push out more rebels then other regions. To get the history in place.

    • Wales for England.

    • Narbonne for France. (Cathar herecy, and the few nobels who followed)

    • Bergen for Norway. (Norway was used to several king, but sometimes, civil war was immenent)
    • etc.

Thorolf was thus armed. Then Thorolf became so furious that he cast his shield on his back, and, grasping his halberd with both hands, bounded forward dealing cut and thrust on either side. Men sprang away from him both ways, but he slew many. Thus he cleared the way forward to earl Hring's standard, and then nothing could stop him. He slew the man who bore the earl's standard, and cut down the standard-pole. After that he lunged with his halberd at the earl's breast, driving it right through mail and body, so that it came out at the shoulders; and he lifted him up on the halberd over his head, and planted the butt-end in the ground. There on the weapon the earl breathed out his life in sight of all, both friends and foes. [...] 53, Egil's Saga
I must tell you here of some amusing tricks the Comte d'Eu played on us. I had made a sort of house for myself in which my knights and I used to eat, sitting so as to get the light from the door, which, as it happened, faced the Comte d'Eu's quarters. The count, who was a very ingenious fellow, had rigged up a miniature ballistic machine with which he could throw stones into my tent. He would watch us as we were having our meal, adjust his machine to suit the length of our table, and then let fly at us, breaking our pots and glasses.

It has to be said, that the 'shadow' factions in MTW1 rocked. There were several aspects of MTW1 that were handled better than M2TW. The way rebellions were handled was awesome. How the rebellion would happen and then you could pick which side you wanted to play.

    Very Cool.

The only way a decent shadowing system (because of faction limit restrictions) could be introduced would be to have more DLV mini/major standalone mods, that focus on a specific area of the map. Northern Europe, the Reconquista, near-middle East, the Steppes etc. A lot of work..
