    Default Improved Unit Cohesion how?

    Hi SS team!

I was wondering if you could tell me how it is that you managed to get unit behaviour to be so awesome?

I was blown away by the efforts of the Broken Crescent team but many have implied "if you think BC 'fixes' MTW2 wait until you see SS!".

I'm trying to figure out what governs this and i'm stumped. I'm not even sure it's in the EDU that governs unit cohesion (with more combatants, less idle and more surging in to fill the caps during melee effectively bringing MTW2 closer to RTW) and also movement speed (which i assume is a global modifier.)

I'm part way through downloading SS as i type but i'm quite noob when it comes to this. Even if i had it installed i still wouldn't know how you've managed to improve the battles so significantly (my EDU tamperings aren't making much of a difference).

Could someone please tell me what governs the battlefield behaviour of units in this manner or perhaps even cut paste me an example from SS that i can throw into vanilla to test, tweak and abuse?

I have gobbled up most tutorials and guides but i haven't found anything that deals specifically with making MTW2 combat not completely broken.

    - Improved unit cohesion - yes!
    - More realistic battle map movement - yes!

Any help to this end will be a godsend.

    Thanks.

    Bounding sphere values!

That's it isn't it?! One of you talented fellows has managed to make sense of the alchemical secrets contained therein and modified it on a model per model basis!

    Am i right?!

    [EDIT]

Also i've left a little trail of how to adjust unit speed in the battlemaps and i've found the answer staring me in the face. I'll shut up about that now.

Some things that have improved cohesion:

-reduce space between some ranks to zero (for good quality melee infantry)
-reduce charge distance to about 6
    -lower movement rates on battlemap
-highly_trained units have better cohesion too
-replaced 'shuffle_backward' animation with 'shuffle_forward', or 'ready' for spearmen
-somewhat higher morale values result in units more keen to surge forward (ie 'eager')

    etc
