Should we have someone managing the treasury and bailout money who can't even keep his taxes in check? Honestly I can't see why he gets such a free pass.

"July 14, 2008: I think this is a case where Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae are fundamentally sound. They're not in danger of going under. They're not the best investment these days from a long term standpoint going back. I think they are in good shape going forward. They're in the housing market. I do think their prospects going forward are very solid."

Yeah I think he's a stand up guy.
I come in peace, I didn't bring artillery. But I am pleading with you with tears in my eyes: If you F___ with me, I'll kill you all.

Nostalgia aint as good as it used to be
From the reports I heard, it was some goofy rule that said he was technically self employed when he was working for the IMF, so he had to pay social security and medicare separately, it wasn't automatically taken out of his salary.
In any even, it wasn't a straight forward thing. But yeah, that is rather embarrassing, especially as treasury secretary.

He also tried to deduct from his tax liability the expense of his daughter's summer camp, which I can somewhat understand.

well that and since we already had a man in who was an expert on the Great Depression i think Obama should have done the same thing he did with the DHS position and leave the TS in for a while to help transition anything. I haven't heard a whole lot on Obama's pick for TS, but so far it doesn't sound good at all.

Well I doubt we can expect much economic improvement over the next 4 years...

I admit, this is kind of a stupid move. If someone is showing problems before he begins his job then it's not a good sign.
