    Thank you Romeu - will test it now.

    ive tried this edu with the italiotae, with it they go bakrupt if they dont disband most of their armies, so i guess either give them less starting units or some balancing with money.. its no problem for the human player, they can disband, but im not sure if the AI knows how to do it
    No, the AI does not know what it has to do so it would go bankrupt and get eaten by others pretty soon. Looks like I'll have a lot of work balancing the campaign now but I would have to do that anyway since I'll put different levels of towns (with different levels of buildings) on the map.

    Guys, I'll be away for a week starting today - I'll take my laptop with me but since I'll probably have busy days I'm not sure if I'll be able to work on PI I for a week.

    Okey so I've tested it - it still isn't what I would like to see but it will have to do - is a considerable improvement and I also appreciate a lot the ammo has stayed the same as in vanilla. First volley only kills a few men weather the second is the one who really does the killing. Nevertheless the feeling the battles give you is incredible!

    May I ask you how long did it took you to change the attack values of all javelin units? How did you do that - by hand only?

    Romeu, can you test for me how the 2HP model plays out if you raise attack value of archers and slingers by 50% and giving them vanilla ammo (like you did for javelin units)?

    The second thing I would like to ask you for a favor is if you can use original Aper's EDU (non 2HP) and only raise the weapon delay of units you gonna test by 15 or 20. I would really prefer this to 2HP mod 'cos by doing so we maintain the original balance consived by Aper and also avoid unpleasant first volley low damage! It was said that simply raising delay for all units by fixed amount is not balanced but I would like to see if that is really the case. Change only delay by +15 or +20 in different-type units and play the battles. Watch how much longer the battles last and what is the general feel to the battles. Raise delay until you are satisfied with the results on the battlefield - we wanna see the battles last long so that there is time for flanking and other manouvers - like with 2HP but without the negative effects it brings.

    Would be really grateful if you would do this + you have time for doing this since I'll be away for a week so there is no hurry!

    I see the same the first volley is weak, but the second is one better.
    No i not use only hand, i have one good experience using caligula for mod my EDUs for my personal use only, this is a good tool if is used proper.

    Unit upkeep is too excessive - please lower it down considerately Romeu! I've tested the campaign and seen everybody is in red numbers from the beginning which is a good mark upkeep needs to be lowered since adding some higher tier buildings to the map won't solve such huge financial problems.

    Hi guys, I wanted to download this mod v0.86, but I found only the torrent that works .... despite this, the torrent is stopped, so I can not just download.
    If Aper is the same as the forum "totalwar.org", then I have already spoken with him(Spatha or Gladius topic) and I would be happy to help him with the file EDU.
    I gave a look to his work: is valuable.
    Even I have taken an idea on how to make the battle balance. I take inspiration from the file EDU Europa Barbarorum mod that I consider the best, yet. In this file weapons like falcata and pilum, has AP, but with lower values (4-5-6).
    As concerning the second part of the defense (the defensive skills) makes it very similar for all units:
    for example => 7 for missile troops, 8 for average infantry, 9 for professional, 10 for elites and fanatics.
    Cavalry and heavy troops much affected in the woods. And very expensive elite units.


    I would like to work in this way to achieve a better battle balance and limit the use of elite troops.

    I like this project (maybe because i m italian) and i would help you, tell me what i can do...
    And please, give me a link where i can download beta version.

    Well, I checked and surprised myself by holding onto the 0.86 install rar. So if someone can walk me through the process of seeding a torrent (using ABC 3.1, Another Bittorrent Client, on the recommendation of a friend), I'll seed it while Hister's on vacation and the DL link is down. Never started a torrent before, but I think I figured it out. I copied the announce info from the Pirate Bay torrent linked on the first page, then told it to save the file as the PI rar that I already had, so it thinks the DL is completeed and says that it's seeding now. I hope this means that you can see it following that torrent link on the first page. I hope.

    Pirate Bay still lists this as zero seeders, so I think I musta messed up. Although maybe I won't show up as a seeder until the upload finishes?

    Working, thank you. I just kept that one open on my machine hoping...now there is a full version and I'm downloading. I'll be seeding the torrent in the first post, for all of you who have recently posted...be sure to thank Pode for re-uploading this.

    Cheers mate. I'm already dl it and will help seed as long as the official dl link is broken. My upload speed is terrible though and my PC does not run 24/7 though.

    I install : RTW -> BI -> BI v1.6 -> Alexander -> can I install PI now?

    Checked this AM before I headed off to work, and there are 5 of us seeding now, so hopefully that'll make up for my atrocious upload speed (16Kb/s over cable, WTF?)

    That's a really good question I just don't know the answer to. I know it's meant for BI. You may be able to run it using the Alex .exe, but I've no idea whether the features of Alex (specifically, the AI retraining) would work. I know several mods ran into trouble with the immortal generals flag, but IIRC they were trying more than just a straight .exe swap. A great modder for Mount & Blade, Saxondragon, put it this way: "Try it, but embrace the expectation of failure." Make backups and/or be prepared to reinstall.

    you can install PI, but it won't run with alexander, you would have to do more then just switch the exe if you want alex features



    still, you can just install PI and it will run on BI by default

    Now I see it work very well... no crash, no problem and.... (maybe better AI?)

    with my first campaign with Umbri I ve lose all of battles... lol

    But I m thinking about better EDU.
    Not for battle balance (that is very good), but about units cost and upkeep.
    I think that cavalry units must be more expensive for avoid their spam (in my campaign I see an etruscan army with 14!!!! cavalry units).
    However when i finish my modification of EDU, i post here a link to download and try it.

    I have see it, in my new EDU the upkeeps stay in 50% more for infantry (of vanilla values), and cavalary stay 100% more to avoid spam of cavalary, cavalary bodyguards stay the same upkeep to not afect poor factions, all units recruiting cost is increased of 100%, not included naval units.
    This EDU is done, only lack testing.
