Weird city gate/siege experience
So I was sieging a Roman/Scippi town with a stone wall as the Greeks. Because the AI had ealier sortied out his troops and been beaten, he only had about 80 soldiers left and put them all in the town square. I brought up my ram and knocked down the gate, facing only the normal gate tower fire. As usual, the burning oil animation ran and caused a few casualties for the troops with the ram.
Then something odd happened that I've never seen. With the gate open and no resistance, I sent my troops through. Every one of them suffered casualties from the burning oil. I tried to send my troops already inside up on the wall or whatever to claim the tower, but they refused to move. Every one of my units finally got inside, at which point I got credit for capturing the gate and the attacks stopped.
Anyone else ever seen that? This is vanilla RTW.

Re: Weird city gate/siege experience
Yes, usually my troops have to get in formation in front of the "hole" in the tower/gateway that they go through before they actually go inside. Therefore, troops who are stuck outside the gate (which happens a lot during rushing multiple units in at once) cause problems, as the rest of their unit inside must wait for them to die or get in.
