By giving to another general who is in the same stack/city. Only possible with some retinue.

    for instance:
i just captured a city with my general, but his army is weary, so i left him there to regain strength. so he got the title. how can i take i away from him?

As I described but in that instance you want to make sure he has 2 titles because when you remove his last one he will get "title stolen" and a loyalty drop.

You can also use the command line command (without the quotes) "remove_ancillary [name of ancillary]" and hit enter. This will prevent the title stolen trait, or at least I believe it will.

Also note that the "Title Stolen" trait doesn't apply to your King or Heir, so you can have one of them grab the title and hold it until you're ready to give it to another general. I usually conquer cities with my Prince and then move another general in to govern the conquered city. The Prince will take the title temporarily and hold it until the governor arrives. This prevents any other unwanted general from taking the title. Then you can give the title to the governor and the prince won't get the "Title Stolen" trait.

I had something to add but I didn't read far enough to see it was already posted.
