    Weird question I know, but does someone by some luck still happen to own an older version of BB where every single city and castle wasn't upgraded to stone walls and where the UI wasn't transparent. I had the most fun with that version and would love to play with that again.

    The UI shouldn't be too difficult to change. Simply find another Overhaul mod with an UI you like and copy the culture-specific folders from its data\ui folder into DLV's.
    As for the settlements, I'm sorry to say you'd need to change it manually in the data\world\maps\campaign\imperial_campaign\descr_strat.txt​.

    Just to confirm, this mod (and also DLV in general) is pretty much dead/no longer supported right? I am crashing loading into battles and it seems no one else is successfully running this mod.

    I really love the campaign map changes and I REALLY want to play this mod

    Ok I got it working. Jesus christ I had to dig up a lot of info but I think I got it pretty stable.

    If anyone wants to play this in 2019 with Steam Definitive Edition:


    1. Install DLV:BB4.35 (D:\Steam\steamapps\common\Medieval II Total War)
    2. Install the 4.36 update (D:\Steam\steamapps\common\Medieval II Total War\mods\DLV_ext)
    3. Rename DLV_ext folder (inside mods folder) to any of the Kingdoms Campaigns. I deleted americas and renamed DLV_ext to "americas"
    4. To play DLV, you launch M2 in Steam and select "americas"
    5. If crashing a lot, Large Address Aware worked for me. Apply it to medieval2.exe
    6. If Campaign music is not working like mine is: I could not find a fix. Am currently using DLVSM 0.95b


    Pretty stable now with little to no crashes (rare crashes from time to time) and haven't ran into a game-breaking bug yet.

    Edit: Crashes alot in siege battles

    That's disappointing, this is such a great mod, my favorite mod for one of my all time favorite games, but it just becomes unplayable as the game moves forward and you constantly crash to desktop in siege battles and as your empire just gets bigger in general. I wish there was some way to clean it up and render it playable.

    Yeah I'm about ~200 turns in and it crashes a lot more frequently now. Sometimes just clicking on Recruitment tab, initiating battles, siege a settlement, etc. Also random battle crashes, even when I only have like 4 units vs 4 unit battle.

    It's such a good mod but it just crashes too much further you go into the campaign. I really think it has to do with memory/32bit issues.

    is there a reason why i can't build certain buildings like the fairground or the garrison quarters? do i need to wait for a certain event?

    You need military or governmental points for that, see the manual for details.

    i changed the owner of my install folder and it seems to stabilize the mod a lot

    I took ownership of the folder but the game still crashed a lot in siege battles, and as I got deep into the game it crashed all the time just when I was selecting cities and simple things on the world map. Do you have problems like this? How many tuns into the game are you?

    I tried a lot of things, a lot of m2tw installs.

    What working for the moment is :
    - windows 7x64
    - Steam version of Medieval 2 total war definitive edition
    - Auto save desactivated in medieval2.preference.cfg
    - added DLV_ext.cfg entries to default medieval2.preference.cfg
    - changed owner of the install folder
    - set medieval2.exe to launch in administrator mod.
    - restart a new campaign

    actually a have a few CTDs during independant cities faction turns only.

    How many turns into the game, though? In my experience DLV is relatively stable early in the game, but as it goes longer and your empire gets bigger it becomes more unstable and crashes all the time from minor things. Siege battles on cities were always prone to CTD too. Have you hade any problems in siege battles? How many turns into the game have you gotten with minimal problems?

    yeah i have almost 1 ctd during each turn passage. i have to restart the game, start a custom battle end finally i can continue my campaign.
    Trying the LAA patch and i told you if its better.

    Ya the large address aware has so far worked well for me, though I have not really played that much or expanded my empire that far. So far zero CTD's though. As my game progresses I will update you if it continues to work or I start getting the CTD's again

    I just hope that there will be an English Pikemen and musketeers. Also, I am in 1261 in my campaign as the English and so far no gunpowder yet.
