Help for Turns as Year

I'm playing a saved campaign and trying to change turns to the correct year. I've gone into the "descr_strat.txt" properties and made sure that read only is unchecked. I've tried putting ;; in front of the "show year as turns" line as well as deleting that line. Start up my campaign and nothing changes. Is there something more I need to do? Nothing else about it in the FAQ section.

No, you have to start a new campaign with the line as
;show year as turns
This will make turn it from turn 1 to 1080.

As the above poster said you need to start a new campaign after modifying your file. Also the correct sentence is 'show date as turns'.
