hi all,
was hoping someone could read this topic i did about my hometown (called lichfield) and see if there were any problems with it, things i could change to make it better, etc...
would be a great help if you could, thnx in advance,
Melboy
Lets see...
The "es ist einen Dom Stadt" is wrong
It should be "es ist eine Dom-Stadt"
"Aus des dreizehntes Jahrhundert"
Wait a minute...
I will give you the full text corrected in a few minutes.
I guess you mean there are lots of whores and prostitutes there? If not replace this sentenceist der ein Menger Geschafte des Mädchenswithes gibt allerdings leider viel Hurerei und ProstitutionIf you have any questions, feel free to askes gibt allerdings zuviele Geschäfte für Mädchen dort

- What can change the nature of a man?
Aigh, my first Post, and a its usefull one
I will just post the corrections, not the whole Text:
-Its: aus dem dreizehnten Jahruhndert
-Next thing: what du you mean with helme? A Helm you usually wer on your Head, when you´re riding a bike.
-Despite of that its: ....von dem einer während des Bürgerkrieges(you cuold write Buergerkrieg instead, but it has nothing to do with Burgers or french fries ) zerstört wurde.
-Ich finde den Dom langweilig, the rests of this sentence makes no sense to me, would help if i could read the original.
-Again after: ...weil es eine menge Geschäfte gibt, the rest makes no sense, do you mean, because that are mostly girls shops?
-you can´t say : weil ich lesen spass finde, better would be: weil ich gerne lese. Or: Weil mir lesen spass macht(again the Original Text would help, if it is an Translation.
-...wo es eine menge zu tun gibt....wo es eine menge zu unternehmen gibt, would be better, because "zu tun" implies Work, not fun.
Some minor formulations sound a little unusual in German but otherwise it would sound like perfect German, maybe your Teacher would get suspicious...dunno.
Hope i could help.
Cheers Kuang

thnx very much guys i rele appreciate it
i find german slitely easier than french though....
guess its more english, and its logical how you make a word by sticking two other words together
thanks again
rep to all
Yeah, I found German easier too. But then my test results were going down for no reason (I mean it! seriously, I had the most unlucky revision) so I did french to not be in the bottom set and have to do a foundation GCSE.
Also, I'm not sure if you put it in or if you need to, but for my french coursework and year 9 tests, I had to say what the youths or tourists could do and also maybe how long you have lived there and where you where before, just some advice.
It's 'man', not 'mann' (altough, also many germans make this mistake)
Für dich, ganz allein, all' mein Gebein.
Shouldn't you be referring to cities, churches with the word's real sex? Sie ist eine Dom-Stadt?
Are all cities of some particular sex? It would make sense, if they all were "die", because of "die Stadt".
Well, in that sentance it goes I guess. But when referring to a church, it can't be "es", you have to use the sex of the word.
Or am I just babbling nonsense?! I'm slightly worried, since my German grades dropped a little in High School.
"What do I feel when I kill my enemy?"

Dont get mad, but yes, you are babbling nonsense Town Watch...

lol
oh and @ town watch, my genders for words are my weakest point, can never seem to remember them.....hmm, and word order for that matter, i forget to send verbs to the end sumtimes and make stupid mistakes
thnx agen guys
You are welcome,
and I am happy to help
- What can change the nature of a man?
Ravenwing: So it's wrong to say about a church for example: Da liegt die rote Kirche. Trotz reichlichen Besuch wird sie(meaning the church) heute demontieren.
"What do I feel when I kill my enemy?"
-Recoil-
Wird sie heute demontieren?
"Wird sie heute demontiert" ist richtig.
And yep, you CAN say "sie" wird demontiert,
I was pointing out that you dont have to refer to a church as "sie" sorry if you misunderstood that.it can't be "es", you have to use the sex of the word.
- What can change the nature of a man?
Sorry stupid me. Of course it's demontiert. Just like: Polen wird in zwei Wochen zerstört.
BTW Which case does the "es gibt" verb require? Is it always akkusativ, like in haben (when it's alone)?
