whole battle line attack?

is there a command that allows your whole battle line (grouped or ungrouped, which ever) to just rush forward and attack the enemy battle line? cos as it is i can either roder each unit individualy to attack its corresponding unit in the enemy line. or i can order the whole line to run ot a poiint behind the enemy and then once bunched up get them to engage? AI seems to be able too, but then it can order lots of things at the same time.

The easiest way is to just pause the game and select your units, tell them to attack each unit of the battle line. Done

i believe there was a button for that. something like alt and then move? anyhow it is possible without pause. correct me if im wrong there...

As others said, you can always pause the game to command your units to attack one by one, as there doesn't seem to be an option to make a "group assault". And it doesn't really seem necessary in my opinion, as there are other ways around it.

Not to mention that for a feature like this, the opponets battle line would need to have the exact same amount of units in it.

you could try making a line behind he enemy, and they will advance through the enemy, and take any guard mode off

I think the only way you can get close to a full battle line attack is by having your line just a couple of units long spread out as thin as possible. Then put the other units in a similar fashion behind the front row. That's how I do it with cavalry. It's not ideal but it does allow me to charge 3-4 units at the same time with just one unit of cavalry.

You can group all your units, and draw them up "behind" the enemy line, and tell them to run to it. They automatically engage the enemy as they encounter them.

ok guys, after some experimenting with diff keys and stuff, i got it

get the units in question, i just tried it with a single line formation of 5 units vs 5 units, each time had one unit in reserve and general. all infantry.


the battle line could be grouped or ungrouped and i just selected it/them and held ctrl and right click to attack, and clicked the unit in the middle of the enermy battle line, didn;t test if it worked on any old unit, but i assume it does.
they basically march in line toward the enemy line, and when the engage, they engage :-)

i tried it with four units against five, and AI took the extra unit of of their line, so i couldn;t test lol. but my 6 vs their five and my five took on one each and my sixth automatically went just a little bit past their line ready to flank attack

so i found it :-) press ctrl and attack

yes,i've being testing this as well,because if you don't draw out,even then they just walk into the line(and lose the charge bonus) ,when you attack ,you can only attack a certain point,then all the line folds in to that point,when some time that defeats the purpose when you are trying to hold/advance a line.
