I read the history of rome republic and find that in BC215 there are still some other families in rome, who is as strong as Julius, such as Sebia who defeated Hanibal and Cathage eventually. But in SPQR, there is only Juliu's family.

What's your point?
My point is there is not only Julius family in Rome republic from 215BC. Am I clear?
creating other families mean creating other factions i think.

Well, to explain a bit - in SPQR there is single Roman faction and Senate. Other two factions have been remade into different other nations. As you can hear when general speaks before battle, he can call like rebels the Scipii or whatever. I hope you get the point, they are simply not there because there are other nations instead. End of story

See it as you are playing for the combined republic (or later empire). You will however have your civil war later on![]()

I made one Rome for a reason, it was TOO easy for the player with 3 factions, also the AI handles the Romans Horribly, I had to change a few things for the Roman Rebels to make them a challenge in Civil war.
As to Names I tried to change names to Romans etc. but you speak of the actual names of the Generals. well someone made a small mod that changed the names to Random Roman names which is about the best you can do with the mod as it is.
The Brutii are Gone and there was no need for them. Sometimes you can have too Many Factions and not enough Provinces. In SPQR a faction really Needs about 9+ Province to support their armies and building Projects at first.
I hope this answers the question? I know Julii wasnt anything really until Caesar came along.

it could be possible creating it in the begining u have the julli as your faction leader but also have your two daughters married to one of the other families of rome such as scipii to give it some historical accruacy so flavius faction leader he has 2 sons 2 daughters those two daughters are married off to one scipio member with a young son and the other married off to a brutii with a son so the line doesnt go extinct right at the begining of the game. only thing is you would need to change the leader of the roman rebels and have people start a new campaign but it is a minor suggestion which i would support to have
How does it affect gameplay, besides being again closer to historical accuracy?

Exactly. Historical inaccuracies are in the game in order to pursue higher gameplay value. If anyone wants to have historically ACCURATE mod, then I wish them good luck as completely implementing all that stuff with regard to history is near to impossible. Yet, anyone is free to try

I think the way the mod is done is best--it allows for a Roman civil war between Julii and Senate (which is historically accurate), and at the same time it allows the player to control all of Rome at once.
