    Default My beloved Moors

Now that the 500 years war has finally come to past and the world is now muslim, there's still one question that lingers in your heathen head :

"How in the hell did the Moors beat all of Christendom?! Good on you if you didn't cheat!"

Simple, I've instated the crossbow as my national weapon, every man, woman and child bared one, to fend of Christian infidels. The Battle of Zaragoza, was the final defeat for them, in the Iberic Peninsula.

I've lost most of my mounted christian guard, which I've employed heavily due to their advantage in armor protection. And I've also deployed trebuchets to keep the King of Portugal line of battle busy.

From then on, I've sailed across the sea, after my ships have manage to take control of the Mediterranean, vanquishing all opposition, slowly but steady, and I've landed in Italy and besieged the Holy City.

I've took Rome with my third sultan. Moors then were the natural prey of five crusades. One or two headed for Granada, the other three targeted Rome itself.
The Pope in exile urged for retaliation. I've managed to keep Rome muslim, at tremendous costs in human lives. At one point, after the Poles attacked, I was left with a mere 20 men in the entire city. Luckily that the populace was by now, mainly of muslim conviction...

But my boldest move shall I say, is sailing north, from the start, with an imam and some militia troops. It was a perilous journey, and we had to stay away from pirates and storms, but we did make it, sailing right next to the coast of France, we circled Britain, and landed in Irland.

Needless to say that I've conquered Dublin and instate muslim religion there.
Dublin and Ireland now became the back-up. Scots didn't bother me.
They even came forward to be my allies,I gladly accepted their offer.

After each conquest of a christian town, I did some massacres to install order but my main task was recruitment. I've recruited heavily, mostly christian guard
Those guys finished off the Normans in Sicily and stood against charges of knights from various nations

My trusted allies in the 100 year old war, were naturally the English. At one point, they've predictably betrayed me, sieging one of my cities, but at that time, most of mainland France was under moorish rule.

Needless to say, I've invaded Britain from Ireland, with Irish kerns at my side, now all servants of the Qu'ran.

My seventh sultan, peace be with him, reached so far north as Denmark.

My worst enemies in my expansion, were the French, whom I cannot stand until this day, when I'm playing Holy Roman Empire, due to their bright colors they wore in battle and due to their aventuriers, most annoying when in large numbers. Needless to say, I feared French cavalry the most, and bombarded Paris as soon as possible , afraid they might move up the tech tree and throw me out of France. This was not the case, for their very last king Louis, let's name him , the Brave, was assassinated just as he was heading with the remnants of his battered army to join the Holy Emperor, Albrecht who has indeed, offered to help him out of the Bulge, that Paris and the surrounding areas created inside a moorish sea.

Then, as I've moved eastwards , I've rally my cause to the Egyptians, which by now , were loosing the battle against the Ottoman Empire. It safe to name them like this, they had Jannisaries Corps and heavy artillery and their Seljuk ancestry was visible only in their light archer cavalry units. Which I found to be encreasingly annoying as well.

The most hated enemies of course, were the poles. I still hear that stupid line, spoken over and over again, in my head:

" I look forward to figthing you"

They said this, even when odds were totally against them.

Needless to say,it was a great adventure and I'm very proud I took part in it.
Even tough it's only a game.

Sorry if I've wasted your time, but I just wanted to share the wonderfull experience.

Lol, tons of pictures. I've documented my campaign since it's very begginings.

But they're all on the other PC , in the capital of my homeland, where I do my studies. I'll post the most relevant of them here, if no one minds, when I get back into the capital.

    Here's a small preview ( taken from my Yahoo 360' ).

Should I post them as thumbnails ?
How do I get them out of my PC without applying them to another site on the net so as to extract them from there and to post them here?

I'm noobish right now, but it doesn't hurt to ask, I guess.

They all have their challenges and eases. The Egyptians are the easiest to start off with by far. They probably won't get Mongoled'd or Timur'd, they have plenty of rebel lands to conquer in the beginning, and they aren't in the midst of their enemies.

    Au contraire, I dissagree.

I had it pretty rough as the Moors.

I got attacked by Spain and Portugal pretty much every turn.
    Then came the Crusades.

I've fend off 3 Crusades in Granada alone, then I've decided to take the fight to the enemy and conquered Rome.

Then came more Crusades. Everybody wanted to kill me because I was muslim.

And towards the end of the long campaign, my forces got creamed by Mongols and Turks ( they've mutliplied by the thousands as I was bleeding Europe out and they've bleed my dry).

And when I first met the Timurids , I had nothing to stand against those Elephant Artillery units. Damn right undestructable , they were!

And the Egyptian Mamluks were quite hard to beat, their Mamluk Cavalry pretty creamed my Christian Guard Cavalry. I've used artillery and gunpowder units heavily, by this part of the game.

Camel Gunners are good, but they tend to be slow when they're attacked and they rout like chickens if the attackers are heavy armoured.

So I pretty much used them to weaken the enemy infantry line.
And to take down routing guys.

But the Mongols were quite impossible to catch at the beggining.
And meeting the Timurids was kinda like a WTF? moment for my Moors, just like the Federacy said when they first encountered the Borg.

Needless to say, I got Timurid'd quite often.

I still hear elephants cry and cannonballs fly .
