Default What the AI can do?

I am wondering whether the AI has the ability to organize a strategy to against the player. Like whether the AI has a long term plan for conquer Rome or nearby country?

If the AI is just run over you by cheating. It looks like not fair and interesting to the high QI player who expect the AI can do something wisdom.

Its a machine. And it is not cheating. It is done so you will be provided with a challenge. Should AI play like in vanilla, game would be won even before its start. The way it is now its good, obviously not the best it can be, but given circumstances, we can be overjoyed

Modders cannot perform miracles...it's not possible to overthrow the basic AI of the game and create a strategic mastermind...in SPQR the AI acts much less stupid than in vanilla but still most of what the AI does or does not is more or less coincidental...the only way to create a challenge is by giving the AI certain bonuses, altering units, creating houserules and stuff like that

Vanilla is a great example...the game is just a mess...after a week or so you get the hang of it and conquer at least one city per turn...I remember my first game when I started the civil war and just took rome after a few turns because the AI created about 50 or more 1-2 unit armies standing right next to each other...just a mess, as mentioned above

I think SPQR makes the most of the possibilities of vanilla...a well balanced campaign where planning is essential with great, challenging battles and a good portion of history...you cannot expect someone rewrites the complete game

Franks_tank, I don't want to offend anyone or distain the MOD writer here.
I just wanna whether we can improve the game's AI to make it think as human beings.

That's not what i intended to say...I just wanted to point out that modders can only work with what developers left open...nothing more

You claim to have historical knowledge and yet you ask if someone can make a machine think like alexander, vercingetorix, hannibal, caesar, hermann or any of those...it's a game

most people have enough difficulty leading like some of the generals named above (and to think i was aragant enoght to call myself a good general on vanilla - SPQR soon taught me better - but i'm learning) yet alone a machine - it lacks a certains intuitiveness sometimes you right but it is far supperior to vanilla (by the way where does that term come from its always vagly buged me)

Mods are flavours to different likings, vanilla is just like icecream, the unflavoured kind

I think we should be happy about what AI can do. Within its limits, I think it is great

The are Hardcoded limits in the .exe and without editing that you cant change AI behavior only guide it. In SPQR I guided the AI to actually build Balanced HUGE armies and many of them. I guided the AI in Battles to form better formations and KEEP them, and to react better with morale etc. The AI TAKES all kinds of things into account, unit number, strength, armour, shield, morale, it KNOWs all of this even though the player doesnt. So there is a way to MAKE the AI act smarter by changing certain stats a CERTAIN way, this is why SPQR Battles are so good, I dont try to Balance the game for the player on ALL factions just ROME, this allows for one great challenge, if I had to balance for another faction I would have to release another mod for EACH faction to REALLY make the Game fun and challenging. SPQR is meant for Rome, ROME TOTAL WAR was REALLY ABOUT ROME. But they knew alot of people would want to play other factions, this is why ROME is really the only faction developed in RTW.
