makehuman is an open source tool that I use to create custom faces http://www.makehumancommunity.org/co...downloads.html

houdini is the industry standard tool for visual effects. It's node based which is super useful but it can take a little while to get used to. They have a free apprentice version https://www.sidefx.com/products/houdini-apprentice/
Like a lot of 3D tools the interface is a bit too busy so if you want to dig around I recommend using the creation ui http://houdinicreationdesk.ipage.com/index.html

Also I like to use headus for uv mapping https://www.uvlayout.com/try/

I use xnormal to make my normal maps https://xnormal.net/

If you'd like any tips on using these tools let me know.

Im wondering, why is Gil-Galad's face so wrinkled? I mean wrinkles on his cheeks, on the forehead, around the eyes. Looks weird for an elf in my opinion. Why that decision?

I used the actor as a basis for the texture. Wrinkles add a bit of a character to a face. Not a big deal IMO but elves a few thousand years old probably had a few wrinkles.

    Update on my recent works:

General from the region of Belfalas in the Kingdom of Gondor (also known as Dol Amroth). This general was a collaborative work between me and Earl of Memory for DCI: Last Alliance. Earl did most of the 3D modeling and I most of the texturing.

Another trailer for DCI: Last Alliance:

    Real good stuff

I think that the Workshop would be a better place if you want to share your models with the community (if not done already). It has a better exposure than here

Thanks, I've been thinking about making a resource thread in the mod workshop. I need to complete a few more projects and then I'll probably make a thread.

Makehuman is very good if you're looking for specific facial features for your characters. There are also some non-human models (elves, fauns, minotaurs) that you can get from the makehuman community, I haven't used them yet but they could be quite useful in a fantasy mod.
