Patriotism... is not short, frenzied outbursts of emotion, but the tranquil and steady dedication of a lifetime.
I would like to say that some Mods are good but the original is IMO always to play from time to time, makes you remember that Mods are quite better with less bugs, better AI, new skins and other features
I feel the Original is the best, mods are good because some are flawless, but maybe the original game battle bugs aren't bugs, maybe its there to make it more realistic. If you had a chunk of heavy infantry in front of you and you were tired maybe your shield would inflict damage to you, maybe you would decide sword over pike. Even if they are bugs it makes it more RL, is your life flawless? If it is lucky you.
I still haven't played a campaign through to fight the Aztecs, which I really want to do, and no mods I've seen so far let you cross over to America. I don't have Kingdoms either, or else I'd be playing Stainless Steel. And Vanilla just isn't old yet, and that's my personal preference.
I only use the retro mod. I'm just not that big a fan of mods. Not that of an experienced player so the original still offers enough debt.
You know you can use an older version of stainless steel if you don't have kingdoms. I think it is 4.1. Check the stainless steel thread for details. Also you get to go to America in the vanilla campaign, you just need to wait for the 'world is round' event!
hehe, some people simply cannot download them because of crappy internet connections.![]()
Mods are rarely "perfect" because the creators make decisions that as a player I might not agree with. And sometimes they go too far in realism or emphasizing something that I don't care about.
So it depends on my mood, but I do play the TW games vanilla quite often.
i dont like total conversions for the period, i mean yeah if its non medieval timeframe or changes the time or place yeah i love it because it allows you to do something else like a free expansion though for medieval mods i prefer small mods with just some new factions. Thats why i likde BC and FkOC
I also want to make it to the Americas but afterwards I will look into a Mod. I remember RTR for Rome being awesome making the game 100 times better. I would love something to make to Byzanntines playable without being vanilla purple. Any suggestions?
Do u have kingdoms ?

People play without mods D: ? Crap, at least install SS 6.1 without any additional plug ins, that is a safe but amazingly fun way to play m2tw.
1. My computer can barely handle M2TW by itself
2. I don't want to spend an hour figuring it out with Vista
3. If you've never had sweetened corn than regular corn tastes just grand.
