    Default any good ship combat mods?

    i hadn't played for ages so i had forgotten how terrible ship combat is . I had gotten used to MTW2 were you actually sunk enemy ships , not chased them round the ocean's for 30 years.

    Basically i would like a mod that make's ship combat more decisive , were you sink ships , especially when you outnumber , i thought how it worked in MTW2 was fine .

    any simple mods that just make ship combat more deadly?

    edit - just to add i'm using XGM at moment and enjoying it , so would have to be compatible with that .

    No mods that just do that... RTR-ExRM (Extended Realism) is/has been working on making ships more decisive. Raising costs, lowering men per unit etc... It can't be terribly difficult to make those changes yourself. Ask for the specifics in the Workshop if you feel up to it.

    I'm not sure, but perhaps RTR's Naval mod?

    It might be a engine difference, AFAIK. I don't mind, personally. Odds are, if you have your 10 ship fleet running around, no one will ever beat you anyways.

    yea they cant beat me , but i cant beat/sink them , so they can send tiny fleets from rome and land troops on my islands before i can kill them . And to try and stop it means your sending a big/expensive navy chasing little fleeets around for ages just to kill them .

    one or two fleets with four or five ships then a series of smaller 2 ship fleets blockading ports everywhere is usually enough to give you early warning of anyhting coming your way and beating them.

    Blockade all of their ports, you can essentially stop their ship production, and then slowly sink their fleet. A fleet sinks if you kill a couple of times in one turn, they have nowhere to go, or are severely depleted, so just have lots of ships patrolling the waters to chase them down.
