Default Running SS6.1 with this setup...

I kinda asked this in The basement section I thought it would be better if I asked here

My rig had died recently after years of service so I have to build a new rig with limited budget(Just in time for ETW I guess...). I just wondering is the following configuration capable of running SS6.1 at max (or high, I could settle for high) settings???

    CPU: Intel Core2 E8400 (or E7300/E7200)
    MB: ASUS P5QL-E P43
    RAM: DDR2 800 2G x 2
Graphic Card: ATI4850 (4830 if budget overflow)

    Thanks in advance.

A fortune teller once told Jack Bauer the following: "In the century 21st, you will be the savior of the world... seven seasons in a row." Moments later, Jack Bauer shot him in the kneecaps, and yelled "WHO ARE YOU WORKING FOR?!"

I've got the exact same rig now and I can say that SS runs great with all settings on max

    Co-incidence or what?

just ordered one practically identical - E8400 / P5Q / 4GB RAM / A4850 video card. - should be here in a day or so.

(not what i originally wanted - but budget constraints plus lack of custom builders willing to use components i wanted means it was the best compromise - would have built it myself but my eyes are having problems with tiny lettering even with glasses - and a 2 year guarantee seemed advisable.)

Whooppee the beast has arrived and now i want to go play on it - but first got to check it's working, install Vista etc

(Looks a very neat build - very tidy back plate. and a sapphire 4850.)

Do let us know if you have any issues with the cooling of the system. I understand the 4850's can get a little hot under the collar.
