towers don't shoot anything?

Hi all, I know the oil doesn't work in BC because its not Kingdoms based, but just now I had a situation where Turkey came after me in Edessa, I am Armenia, and I had Vishap infantry on the walls, flags were flying, but nothing was coming from the towers? They had a depleted stack sitting well within range, and they lost 0 men in the last 5 minutes. Any clues?

Also as a side note, do Vishap not throw javelins from the wall? Same thing, they had the bow and arrow icon to indicate they were throwing but I zoomed in and nothing was happening. I have the 1.05 patch so its not that...

i've had the same thing with javelins when i was playing with Makuria. maybe the javelins just dont work at walls
