Of these facts there cannot be any shadow of doubt: for instance, that civil society was renovated in every part by Christian institutions; that in the strength of that renewal the human race was lifted up to better things-nay, that it was brought back from death to life, and to so excellent a life that nothing more perfect had been known before, or will come to be known in the ages that have yet to be. - Pope Leo XIII
......kinda pointless though becuase in campaign I nearly had any bridge battle you are probably talking about the custom battle but that is seriously kinda pointless to have a bridge battle

Press printscreen and in your rome total war folder, there should be a tga folder with all your pictures. If not just use a auto screen shot like fraps and just make it into jpg.
It was a bitter year for the Egyptians. After they ruthlessly backstabbed the Romans by attacking their outpost at Cyrene, the Brutii counterattacked with a vengeance. In a swift military operation, Memphis and Alexandria were taken.
Egyptian armies were diverted from all corners of Africa and Arabia to counter the invasion. One such army, led by an esteemed general, arrived, but found a the last bridge before Alexandria blocked by two units of Roman hoplites. Rather than risk an attack, they waited for reinforcements to arrive from the other side of the bridge. Eventually, a war-weary but formidable army that had previously lost a battle at Cyrene arrived and attacked the hoplites from the west. But the Romans responded quickly...
The garrison at Alexandria arrived just in time to intercept the reinforcements. While Julianus Lollius' infantry and archers destroyed the western army, the hoplites created a phalanx at the west end of the bridge. The army to the east would have to get through them now, or forever wait on their side of the Nile. They chose to fight...
(A phalanx was closer to the bridge, right up against it in fact, but I moved it away so you all could see the carnage. They only broke the phalanx when they all routed through it, only to meet the one behind it!)
And, the results...
Phillipos' army is the one seen here, lol.

Thanks very much, lol
ok i finally got pics from my most recent bridge battle - or crossing battle at least. Its not my best one but its one of my fav's. I had just conquered northern italy for the exact purpose of defending this crossing and it went like this:
I had a small army of 1 spartans, 1 armored hoplites, 2 archers, 1 heavy peltasts, and 1 greek cav. SPQR obviously sallied and attacked me.
The retards came running accross the river.
They of course were quickly chain routed, but they routed towards me like so:
which resulted in slaughter on a mass scale:
so there u have it, my latest bridge battle. waddya think?![]()

Gotta love that AI - no no, we'll plough on straight into the pikes. Keep going - I know we're losing 100 men a second but keep going. hello? Hello? where's my army gone?!
Great pics though.
There isn't anything heroic about bridge battles, it's just easy exploits over the AI. A heroic victory that you got in a field battle seems much better to me.
Every time you , god kills another kitten.
If you're gonna hire Machete to kill the bad guy, you better make damn sure the bad guy isn't YOU!

I've never, ever. ever. lost a bridge battle. be it offense or defense, offline or online
of course theyre not heroic. Theyre just fun as hell and they can really come in handy on campaign, especially vs. powerful enemies like SPQR![]()

I wish the Romans could recruit spearmen in cities...I could probably use this once the civil war starts...which will be soon.
they can after the marian reforms (auxilla). See my Julii faction guide for details.
