I see so many complaints about certain aspects of Med2, and these complaints usually come with a RTW comparison and how RTW was so much better in said aspect. Med2 has: far better graphics, better battle AI, an more in-depth diplomacy system, a more in-depth religion system, and more features (gimmicks?) like the Crusades, Mongol invasions, New World expeditions, etc. The cavalry aren't overpowered, spamming elite units for super-armies isn't as easy, castle/city option for settlements makes kingdom planning more important, and the unit colors aren't as awful as RTW's units (lime green and neon purple?). Is it just nostalgia or am I missing something? Med2 siege pathfinding annoys the hell out of me sometimes, though the patch makes it happen less. The RTW AI was just as prone to breaking alliances for no good reason, it wasn't much better.
It's not that bad, come on.
