    Default Question- Victory Monuments?

I've recently started playing SS, and I'm currently fighting a Polish campaign... I hold alot of areas, I defeated Lithuania and I had a crusade launched on Jerusalem... I took Jerusalem (and Cyrus, so I can keep well armed) and have since held off 6 seiges, the enemy usually conisisting of over 2000 men and I've never lost more then a hundred men (I make good use of the Streltcy)

Along the line though, I've noticed in my generals traits the popping up of thingd such as "First New Major Victory Monument", I didn't see any effect for it... after some more fighting, I got it to the point it said "One Great Monument", since then I've also gotten another "First Monument"...

Do these do anything in particular? Its somewhat bugging me, though I suppose its no big deal.

alos, I could use some suggestions on building my economy, I have a strong family tree, powerful armies and my reputation is trustworthy... what do I need to do to get rich? I get about 6k per turn.

    Any help is appreciated.

Not at lower levels; they simply let you know monuments have been built to honor your general's successes, and at higher levels troops led by this general will receive morale bonuses, I don't know why that would bug you.

As for your economy, pay attention to taxes, cut down your armies, make sure you have the right generals in the right cities, and try to obtain trade rights from, well, everyone.

Also build roads and markets. When it comes to taxes there are two schools of thought. One is to tax them as high as possible without causing unrest. But this slows down population growth. The other is to keep taxes relatively low to encourage population growth so over time, you'll have more people to tax and hence, bring in more tax revenue. It depends on whether your priorities are for the long term or the short term. If you're trying to fund a war then you can raise taxes for the short term and then lower them back down once you've crushed your enemies underfoot
