Well Ireland is the opposite of centralized atm. Too many clans and family and such. And looks to be a promising home for Vikings.

I'd like to be King of Ynys Manau. Will I get an income bonus due to the strategic location of my island?

Oh noes! If I can't get good bonuses I don't want to be stuck in a small Island!

Is still too late to change!!!

Nope. If you want a larger nation to make the game slightly easier I will cede Northumbria to you and take Dyfed or Gwent

Well you do also have one province on the main isle. But if you want to change then it's OK.

I am sure Cain picked Mercia out of nostalgia. He originally played it back in 2006.

I recall that. He was like way too good in the MTW VI MP mode. We had to form huge coalitions to fight him.

Well my offer stands, for anyone. The larger nations should be filled. However I am experienced in WBK's games, so of a newbie wants to play a stronger faction, I will let them take Northumbria.

Actually it will be easier to run a smaller faction. You may be weaker, but there is the option to enter into vassalage with a larger faction. You can always wait for your chance to turn on your king and make a grab for his lands

Well perhaps I don't understand the rules then. But a larger faction will be able to project more power, thus making them easier to play. And one doesn't have to worry about becoming a vassal by the local bully right away and then dance to the whim of their master

That is how I see it. I personally don't care who I play, I just selected a large nation to play.

Yeah you are correct in that it is easier to gain power as a large faction, but the dangers are also greater. What I meant it is easier to survive (albiet with very little power/influence) as a smaller faction as you can always grovel on your knees and pledge allegiance to whomever is the strongest bully at the time.

It depends on your play style really, i guess.

i just offered it up. Some newer players might not want to play a 1 province faction...and be discouraged.

Don't worry about it. We will take the first turn nice and slow so people get the hang of things. But it will help a lot if all players reads over the rules beforehand!

Well as a big player you get more options and as such possibilities to make more wrong moves
    Thus harder to play.

This will wander around in circles, because as a one province faction, you really only have the chance to make one mistake. Which makes it pretty hard as well.

I get what you are saying, though.

And yes, we did way too few of those VI MP battles. Those were fun.
