No I do think this is a very good idea. Getting a team won't be easy though.

I had thought of creating of Anglo Saxon mod myself. Aiming at being 100 percent historic. Heres what I gathered. (No actual modding though)

It is the year ??? and the land of the Heptarchy is flouishing. Several kingdoms have come to dominate these lands. trade has been established thoughout the land, weapons and other iron products are being created, new towns and structures are being constructed and clothing and jewlery is being made on an almost industrial scale. but not all is sweet here. These lands run amok with war, the Angle, Jute and Saxon kingdoms now fight, each other hoping to have ultimite supremacy and the neighbouring Welsh and Britons are using this to their advantage raiding our lands with every possible chance.

For this war to stop a leader must rise, take up the sword, Prepare the thegns and conquer the lands under one banner. The time of unions has failed for peace to come we must inforce it at the end of a seaxe.

    Map:
Heres as far as I got.

I can't really be modder for you because i'm far to busy, but if I have a little time after WotN is released, I may create a map for you if you follow my guide lines of this mod.

I do strongly think you should focus on just Wales and England, This will give the Anglo Saxons the in depth focus they deserve.

Also the now dead 1066 could provide you with some work.

    Nah.

They could have huge difference if this is created like I said.
Its really like saying Stainless Steel and Deus Lo Vult are the same.
Both great and both completely different.
