    Default kill moves

will you keep the kill moves from m2tw? like that one where a guy hits someone else with his hilt(i cant remember the name of the handguard), then kicks him down, and then steps on him and stabs him? if so, how would this work with short swords, as all the other weapons except for perhaps the dori (hoplite spear) would work normally.

also, will there be greek fire units? or perhaps ships? i know that they had greek fire in the dark ages, but im not sure about the classical period. even if not, it'd still be a really cool edition.

Greek fire is a Byzantine invention. It did not exist in EB's time-frame. There were other flammable concoctions in use, but they appear not to have been used on large scale, so they will not make it into the mod.

Also, two important bits of information:
    1) Do not spam the forum with new threads for simple questions. Use the questions topic for that.
    2) "Coolness" is not a valid reason for including something in EB. History is practically the only thing that counts.

I am sorry your welcome was less than friendly, but you posted five suggestions in the space of a few hours, three of which had been recently discussed or where under discussion on the TWC and .Org EB forums. Especially for the "multiple Roman factions" and "Jews" threads it's a bit annoying, since we've spent several pages trying to explain why it's not going to happen, only for you to say that the team should, because it's "cool".

I answered the side note only because I do not know the answer to the main question.

Maybe those kill moves won't be included because they would have to do new animations for it.

Yeah they would need some other animations but they said somewhere (I'll try to find a link) they would use some old animations from standard M2TW and they would make some new ones.

It seems EB gets a lot of stupid questions, or redundant ones. The team is always busy so if you ask an already answered question people are going to get pissy at you; especially fans- if all their time is on forums the work doesn't get done!

They didn't make this one up: I saw a HC documentary demonstrating a possible Byzantine hand-held flamethrower. They went on and on about how deadly it was, and how frightening it must have been to face a line of flamethrowers, but if was really that good, why didn't they use it more often?

I guess it was either too expensive, too dangerous, or too easily countered to be used on more than a few occasions.

Ultimate proof that you didn't read , if you did then you'd know that the EB team would never do something like this.

Finishing move animations will most likely be used. M2TW moves that work with the weapons/era and are overly exagerated will probably be used. New ones will most likely also be made, though the animators have many things to do before then.

actually it was used extensively by byzantine and greek warships during the dark ages- medieval period. until gunpowder, it was the deadliest form of weaponry ever mounted on a ship(i said deadliest, not most efficient at taking out enemy ships, though it probably was).

i'm sure misfires or rain would've screwed with them real badly. plus in scorching heat of mid east, they could accidentally go off without notice. thus, they would eb suited for only a few engagement types. if you notice in m2tw the greek firethrowers only have about 40 men per unit. that is probably to represent how few of them they really had.

Rain probably won't do all that much to petroleum-based incendiary weapons tho'. Anyway, already due to the short effective range, comparatively high expenses involved, the shortage of sufficiently high-grade craftsmanship the diverse fire-siphons required, the need for specialist training for the operators etc. fire-weapons tended to be rather special-purpose junk AFAIK chiefly used in sieges (a big fire-siphon emplaced in a gatehouse made approaching the gate proper an interesting experience, and putting a portable one at the point in a siege tower's "assault room" was apparently a good way to create an empty space on the wall ahead...). Saw some use as terror-weapons in field engagements too AFAIK, but given their short range and the ubiquitousness of archery in the Middle East were obviously a bit tricky to get working right.

I think your "major note" about kill moves was answered fully, so what is wrong with a little flaming discussion? Should we all talk about how cool this and that kill move is?
