    Default Military points

    First of all excellent mod!

I have found that it makes the game VERY VERY immersive.THX REPman!!

My only gripe is with Military points.. I love the Rpg aspect and therefore I attack only with my best general with a great stack and in a nice setting. I am a piecemonger! Turns pass without any fight (I play M/m).

So the problem is that after I build a fortress I am conctantly loosing points and therefore I cannot reach 60 no matter what (I could wait and not build up until 60 but that would be like having a nice cake waiting for you while on a diet) .. I know i can edit the point system but I think that requirement to fight constantly takes some of the immersion way. I agree with the action base system but why loose points for upgrading your castles constantly?

    Anybody feels the same??

I am afraid my experience was the opposite, I had my 100 military points and still 0 gov.

Not to sound flippant, but like you said, if you're running a peacemongering society, how can you develop advanced weapons of war?

I like fighting but no more than 2-3 times per turn. However, if I loose 2 points each turn, I never get enough points...I prefer to fight once with a Kickass army than many with crappier ones. Also development gives better weapons NOT how much you fight :-)

I agree...is hard to keep those Military Points... :| and I only have a fortress ( that means -1 Military Point every turn ....and now it seems that I can't gain any more Military Points...

I didn't manage to get my Faction Heir to the capitol to get the crown because my King diedat early age (53) and all my empire is upside-down .....

I will start a new campaig :| ...this time I will use diferent tactics ...and see if I can do something to keep and maintain my Military Points...

Or can you make some special traits for Military Generals taht gives 1 or 2 Military Points per turn ...like the Ring/Key/Coin or Governors works...and these traits to be given to those generals that prove they worth in battle...or those to are governator for a city/castel that train vast numbers of units....or something like that... :|

All generals above the "Knight" rank are supposed to be giving you military points, as i understand, but this feature doesn't seem to be working.

I'm now playing a Portuegese campaign and i've also had a great difficulty getting the maximum military points, having made the mistake of constructing a fortress. So i trained an elite army with a lot of pikemen and heavy cavalry and sent it off to conquer the Americas. After half a dozen heroic victories and dispatching about 40k Aztecs i did get 100 mil points. ))
And i also kept carrying out missions from the council and the pope - that also adds mil points.

In general, it seems best not to construct a fortress until you've got 100 mil points. Otherwise, under current rules, getting the maximum points will be extremely tough for most factions (although, i must admit, playing as the Lithuanians i reached maximum militray points before the first Dark Age, fighting several battles every turn, but my economy was a mess then). )))

you read my mind this is what I want to do now..because I start a new Campaig with my favourite faction : Norway those Huscalrs are way too nice and powerfull and you have them from the begining of the game...

I will too won't upgrade a castel to fortress/citadel until I reach the limit at military points (100 points) ...then I will slowly turn one by one my castels up in level...not all of them :| .....

well, at least that's what it looks like.
    See for yourself:
I have a fortress (-1 point/turn) and a stone fort in enemy territory (-2p/turn for dishonest transgression, i believe(?)).
I also have a Knight Grand Kreuz (+4) and two Knight Bannerets (+2 each).
I do the maths: 4+2+2 -1-2=5 So i should be getting 5 mil points every turn. Instead, i'm losing about 3. As i can't see, what else could be causing that, i conclude, that the Rank-Military Points feature is not working.
Please, correct me if i'm wrong.

P.S. I reached 100 points twice in my Portuguese campaign, but each time my point count was down again the next turn, so the Citadel Barracks were not unlocked. I ended up, as has been mentioned already, having to wipe out the Aztecs to get the maximum.

So my question is... any one ever got the citedal armoury? :hmmm:
Thorolf was thus armed. Then Thorolf became so furious that he cast his shield on his back, and, grasping his halberd with both hands, bounded forward dealing cut and thrust on either side. Men sprang away from him both ways, but he slew many. Thus he cleared the way forward to earl Hring's standard, and then nothing could stop him. He slew the man who bore the earl's standard, and cut down the standard-pole. After that he lunged with his halberd at the earl's breast, driving it right through mail and body, so that it came out at the shoulders; and he lifted him up on the halberd over his head, and planted the butt-end in the ground. There on the weapon the earl breathed out his life in sight of all, both friends and foes. [...] 53, Egil's Saga
I must tell you here of some amusing tricks the Comte d'Eu played on us. I had made a sort of house for myself in which my knights and I used to eat, sitting so as to get the light from the door, which, as it happened, faced the Comte d'Eu's quarters. The count, who was a very ingenious fellow, had rigged up a miniature ballistic machine with which he could throw stones into my tent. He would watch us as we were having our meal, adjust his machine to suit the length of our table, and then let fly at us, breaking our pots and glasses.

Governor Ancs as key,.. give gov_points but General ancs as knight banner,...don't give any military points.
So we need to eliminate the fortress\citadel subtraction or to counterbalance it

My belief is so since you should not be forced to fight if you dont want to and it is a shame not to develop because of that...

I think it's in the campaign_script mate, - just open that up - press Ctrl + Fm, then type military points

it should find the section where all these scripts are activated

    Hope it helps!

    I got a few questions ...

    1: I saw this code :
    if I_CompareCounter factionsize == Number
    and I_CompareCounter unitlimit <= Number
    freeze_recruit_pool all false
    end_if

where Number were from 5...10...15...asn so on until 1250 (The maximum army size)...so in the game when we look at Faction Army Size limit and Faction Army Used it is rouded up to 5 ...if I will change the code for every number from 5 to 1250 will I get the right and exact Faction Army Size in the game ?! (Just tell my if it will show....I will make the code in about 2 hours ) ..or the scripts only can work with rouded up numbers...or there is too much code lines and it will slow down the game and to avoid this stuff the team only use the rouded numbers...

2: Can someone tell me exactly where I can find the code for City/Castels Military/Govern. Points Reduction ? pleaseeee
    !!!!!!

I also have problem with Mil Points. Can somebody help to edit it?

    *I found script:
    (DLV_ext\data\world\maps\campaign\imperial_campaign, DLV_ext\data\world\maps\campaign\imperial_campaign.txt)
    ;----------------military ranking-------------------
    monitor_event LeaderMissionSuccess FactionIsLocal
    inc_counter mil_points 1
    inc_counter gov_points 1
    end_monitor
    monitor_event LeaderMissionFailed FactionIsLocal
    inc_counter mil_points -1
    inc_counter gov_points -1
    end_monitor
    ;monitor_event GeneralCaptureSettlement FactionIsLocal
    ; inc_counter mil_points 1
    ;end_monitor
    monitor_event ArmyTakesCrusadeTarget FactionIsLocal
    ****

I will try to edit it.

    *I suppose problem is here:

    monitor_event AddedToBuildingQueue FactionIsLocal
    and BuildingName = wooden_castle
    inc_counter mil_points -1
    end_monitor
    monitor_event AddedToBuildingQueue FactionIsLocal
    and BuildingName = castle
    inc_counter mil_points -2
    end_monitor
    monitor_event AddedToBuildingQueue FactionIsLocal
    and BuildingName = fortress
    inc_counter mil_points -3
    end_monitor
    monitor_event AddedToBuildingQueue FactionIsLocal
    and BuildingName = citadel
    inc_counter mil_points -4
    end_monitor.

So each castle gives negative mil Points each turn. Even "wooden_castle" !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The more castles the more negative mil points!
